I can remember when the mattress to buy was the waterbed mattress and there were even dedicated waterbed stores around to meet the demands. Since then those stores have gone the way of Sears and today there are several choices in mattresses. This question is to ask (hopefully to those who have tried several different types) which mattress do you like the best and find the most comfortable.
Currently, I'm using a Serta "icomfort" memory foam type mattress but I've wondered about the "Sleep Number" Mattress that uses air to adjust your comfort. There is also Gel Foam and Memory Foam type mattresses such as Tempurpedic being the most known brands. One of the most comfortable mattresses I have ever slept on was at a condo that we rented, while on vacation, and we even copied the name of the mattress down and I researched it only to find a supplier in the Carolinas only supplied them in bulk to Condos, Motels and the like so I was out of luck in getting one of those but I believe it was a standard spring type mattress with a plush top. I prefer a softer mattress rather than a firm but I find you can get most any firmness in most any type of mattress.
So if you have found that "perfect mattress" what do you recommend? And yes I do know the name brands that advertise the most cost a prohibitive amount but there are ways of achieving the same type mattress at a lower price than the advertised name brands.
