Reply to "Some Good Points About Both Churches"

Hi Nathan,

My Friend, you are confused.  Let's take a look at what is defined as a "cheap shot":

"Cheap shot" n. -- An unfair or unsporting verbal attack on a vulnerable target.  (The American Heritage® Dictionary of the English Language).

"Cheap' shot" n. -- 1.  (in sports) a blow, shove, or tackle maliciously directed against an opponent who is defenseless or off guard.  2.  any mean or unsportsmanlike remark or action, esp. one directed at a defenseless or vulnerable person.  (Random House Kernerman Webster's College Dictionary, © 2010).

Now, unless you and Smokey are telling us that a Roman Catholic is a "vulnerable target" or a "vulnerable, defenseless person" -- when I have spoken what my Bible tells me is not true; how can what I have written be "cheap shots"?

Yes, the Bible is only 66 books and even your own Jerome, when chosen by the pope, long before the time of Luther, to translate Scripture into Latin -- denied the apocrypha.  Jerome denied that the apocrypha books were Scripture and did not want to include them in the Latin Vulgate translation he did for the Roman Catholic church.

The pope forced Jerome to include them.   Why?  Because without the apocrypha and the Roman Catholic written books of traditions and rituals -- there would be no Roman Catholic church.

You tell me, "There are no false teachings or erroneous doctrines in the Catholic Church."

Any teaching or doctrine which cannot be supported by Scripture (the Big 66) has to be deemed  false and/or erroneous.

No "cheap shots" -- merely the truth!  For reference, check out Acts 17:11 and 2 Timothy 4:3-4.

God bless, have a wonderful, blessed day,

Bill
