Reply to "Suicide"

It seems to me that the older i get the more people I know are on a narcotic drug to live. I personally have a near "phobia" of prescription medication or anything that i have never taken over the counter or otherwise. The magority of the people I know don't need the volume of the meds they are taking and admit to being chemically addicted to them or enjoy the extra pills for recreation. I'm primarily talking about Hydrocodones and anti depressants like Zanex Valium etc... I think Doctors would be more careful about these prescriptions if they were held accountable for the fees that I have watched at least 2 friends have to pay for rehab to get off these things that not are only prescribed indefinitely but without further diagnosis or treatment options. I understand that people need a Valium to cope with depression or something but I think these depression prescriptions should be limited to someone in the precise field of of mental illness. I mean would you go to a dentist and get medication for a hurt back?
