Kim Johg-un tried these same tactics under W. Bush and Clinton's presidency. He's just looking for relief from the sanctions. He'll never give up the nukes.

I don't think so!  You might want to rethink that statement and revise it just a bit. I believe Kim Jung Un was in school during the Clinton/Bush years and it was his father that was dealing, underhandly, with our gullible past Presidents who gave away the farm hoping to negotiate with this man.  Trump is the ONLY one of the Presidents that I believe to understand how to deal with these people.  Only time will tell though.

Why do you love to argue semantics? North Korea has tried this repeatedly. You even admit it. Trump's staff has already started walking back the claims of a meeting.

I'm not trying to argue semantics but rather just suggesting if you want to make an argument then facts like picking the right leader, for the time period, does matter.   Fact is that no US President, until Trump, has had a viable or reasonable chance to make real progress with North Korea as no US President ever has been able to meet with the North Korean President/leader.  Past administrations were played by delegates of North Korea acting on behalf of the President and not the President himself.  Some would argue that this was brought about by Trump's strong stance against N.Korea a move decried by liberals as being foolish and leading to Nuclear War/conflict.  Now those liberals are set to eat crow.  I think it has to do with many factors among which are China and South Korea's cooperation but I do not believe that Hillary Clinton could have ever achieved 1/10th of what Trump has been able to achieve in his first term even with most of the media against him.  No one knows what will come from talks between the two leaders if such talks do take place but one thing is glaringly certain and that is Trump has surpassed all of his predecessors in achieving a point where North Korea is willing to have their President set down with our President and have talks.  Obama could never have achieved such nor could have Bush either.

I think it's disgusting that George Bush remained silent for 8 years during Obama's term all while Obama eliminated any prestige that might have been associated with the Presidency and while he signed off on many unconstitutional executive orders yet now George Bush finds some kind of will to sound off against anything that President Trump does.   Further signs of derangement among the past Presidents as they all watch their legacies be threatened by Trump's successes and achievements.  I believe much of it comes from Trump not being a politician but being more concerned with outcome rather than trying to appease other politicians and/or political groups.   I'm optimistic about Trump and what he can potentially do, that no prior President ever dreamed of achieving.
