Reply to "The equivalent of dividing by zero..."

If I were an atheist, I would beg, borrow, and steal so that I could get the most pleasure from my hopefully expected 80 years.

There's no reason to beg borrow or steal. You just live life. One thing about atheists is the fact that we know this is it, you only go around once and you have to make the most of it. You can't sit back and let slights you do to your loved ones just simmer, because you don't know if you or they have 80 seconds of life left much less 80 years to make it right. I for one want the memory of the last times my loved ones saw me to be a happy memory, I want the memory of them to be a happy one for me. One of us will go on in this life and I don't want guilt for what I should have done to be a part of my memory of them, nor them of me.

We believe science books as fact, only to find the fact dispelled and changed a few years later.

We, as a human race, have accomplished truly great things but we still don’t know what’s at the bottom of the deepest part of the ocean, we still can’t fix world hunger, or find a cure for the common cold.

I believe certain scientific facts to be true, but yes, science never stops seeking, changing, and advancing. That is the purpose of scientists. If they thought they had all the answers they would have stopped that seeking a long time ago when some old ancient book, written by superstitious old men that had no idea of how the world worked, said that's the way it is, man came from dirt, woman from a bone, end of story. I have trust in many people and things and that is how I live my life. Faith, to me, is only wishful thinking and I wouldn't bet my short time on earth that I could live however I wanted because after I died there'd be a place where I could make my mistakes all better.
