I researched my choice, read the platform, and voted for Obama.

I've tried to get someone to tell why they voted for Obama. What did you like about his platform?

I can give individual quotes from “Report of the Platform Committee: Renewing America's Promise.” But for the sake of space I will paraphrase the reasons I voted for this platform. I will list section titles to which you can refer for some of my more specific agreements.

1. Affordable, Quality Health Care Coverage for All Americans
2. Opportunity for Women
3. A World Class Education for Every Child
4. Creating New Jobs by Rebuilding American Infrastructure
5. Restoring Fairness to our Tax Code
6. Smart, Strong, and Fair Trade Policies
7. Fiscal Responsibility
8. Win in Afghanistan
9. Do Right by Our Veterans
10. Allow All Americans to Serve
11. Reform Contracting Practices and Make Contractors Accountable
12. Stand with Allies and Pursue Diplomacy in the Middle East
13. Establish Energy Security
14. Lead to Combat Climate Change

These are some specific sections of the platform that attract my interest. There is much more to the platform. In general the platform provides a way for us to rebuild America. Just as our citizens have buried themselves in unsecured debt, our country has also slid further away from the financial security we once enjoyed. I cannot be unrealistic and expect our problems to be solved overnight. Andrew Jackson is the only president that paid off the national debt. But it is time we began to progress as we have in the past.

I can easily sit and debate what you may consider fair, such as returning higher taxes to those making over $250,000, but I do not think I can change your perception. I can only share my reasoning. If you wish we can discuss the specifics of these sections or you can read them yourself.

There was never any specifics on these subjects from obuma’s platform. More generalities than anything else. And what has happened to his agenda?

Did women not have opportunities before obuma?

Is obuma admitting that our liberal controlled education system is a mess?

Is government hiring workers for infrastructure creating the kind of jobs that spur the economy? Well, no.

“Restoring fairness to our tax code” is democrat lingo for we’re going to sock it to the rich but the middle class is the ones who’ll get socked. The 250,00 threshold you speak of has already been reduced to 150,000 no wait, 100,000 no wait, make that 75,000 now.

Fiscal responsibility- that will be a first for a far left liberal democrat. It ain’t gonna happen.

Do right by our veterans.-that will be a first for a far left liberal democrat. Most democrats treat out veterans like dirt. It’s disgusting.

Allow all Americans to serve- you mean his forced to serve program.

Establish energy security- Somehow this means not drilling on our own soil while the Chinese are building rigs and drilling 90 miles off our shorelines.

Lead to combat climate change- Which has been proven to be a hoax.

Skymaster, did you miss school too? Good grammar and correct spelling might help me believe you. Look at what you wrote. Links. Not statements. Links. Did you read the platform? Did you read the Republican platform? Most of what you write are not even facts, but rather Internet rumors.

(1) Obama hasn't taken office and you haven't seen anything to judge results.
(2) The threshold remains at $250,000. You've been reading e-mail and reading propaganda sites.
(3) Bush, a Republican, has been the most fiscally liberal president in history. Facts and results prove that point.
(4) Veterans are suffering from the lack of services. I have a family member who is a doctor volunteering their time because the VA hospitals and benefits for veterans are at an all time low. (By the way, I believe McCain would have fixed this problem too.)
(5) Where in the world do you get "forced to serve?" I can't even address that issue. Do you expect a new draft to resolve Bush's issues?
(6) You obviously don't understand energy nor the limitations of Earth. If we began drilling today it would take 10 (TEN) years to get the first oil. We need to be undertaking alternative methods no matter what happens.
(7) I cannot even address the silliness of your message about climate change. What I have seen you write means you would not understand.
(8) If you are an example of a private school, I wouldn't let my child attend. I doubt you were. If you knew anything about education you would understand that parents are a major part of the child's education. My daughter went to public schools and actually started college in 7th grade because of her education. She is a junior in college at the age of 19 and on her

Why don’t you just admit you were caught up in the obuma media hype and it best represents the reason you voted for him. You looked at his website instead of looking at his voting record which are two entirely different things. Count on a continuation of how he’s voted in the past. His voting record is not a good thing.

You don’t have a clue what obuma really believes in.
