As an African=American who fought in the Viet Nam war, I was very offended when he APPEARED to endorse the segregation platform that Strom Thurmond ran on when ran for president. Senator Lott created this negativism on his on and not from what someone else said about him.
The republicans have left the party of Lincoln long ago. Remember, republicans are against civil rights and have always hated them. The republicans hated JFK. I remember in 1963 the republicans clapping their hands when our teacher informed us that JFK had been shot.
