Had a group of union pipefitters bend 1/2" hard drawn copper tubing on an instrument panel using their knees. Wouldn't have been so noticible if they hadn't done the entire panel that way. We ended up having to redo it for them.
I've also seen them use compression fittings without the ferrules, they did however use dope on the threads, lol.
All of them "highly" trained by the union.
sorry hoob, I don't believe a highly trained fitter did that. That is a tbeepug talking point. Are you an owner of a rat company by chance? or possibly a kissazz individual contractor for some utility taking home a fat check at the expense of cheap labor that likely would bend tubing with a knee?
Nope, it was a union plant utilizing union contractors. Don't care if you believe it or not, it happened and I know this because I was one of the people who had to go behind them and clean up the mess messes.
The only problem I have with unions is the bad workers are protected. There is no differentiating between the top performers and the bottom, everybody has to be treated the same. It's a bad system as it is.
