Volunteers special season

How many remember the magical 98 season of the Tennessee Volunteer football team and the almost inconceivable win over Arkansas that year that was as much shear luck as anything else?   As for me I thought Tennessee should have ordered one additional National Championship ring and presented it to the Arkansas quarterback that year due to the fumble that the Arkansas QB made that turned a sure Tennessee Loss into the most impractical win that year securing the National Championship hopes would remain alive.

Flash ahead to 2016 and Saturday's game against Georgia.  The many stroke of luck events that had to transpire to position Tennessee to take the Hail Mary pass into the end zone then for it to be caught insuring the victory and Keeping Tennessee's hopes alive.  From App State's placekicker's missed extra point which is usually a "give me" to their several come from behind wins this year appears to be a special luck with Tennessee year and given Georgia's loss on Saturday in the last few seconds you can all but assure that Tennessee will, as predicted, before the season, be the SEC East champ all but assuring a rematch with the SEC West winner which in most probability will be Texas A&M or Alabama.

Granted there is a vast difference from the SEC east to the SEC West and Texas A&M and Alabama will most likely give Tennessee a much tougher game than Florida or Georgia has given them but Tennessee is finding ways to win and even better finding lady luck in its corner.  The next two weeks will tell how Tennessee's fortunes will go and an end of the year rematch, if it's Texas A&M or Alabama, means if Tennessee loses they might have a chance at redemption but given Houston's great playing and the way that other schools are so dominate there may be a scenario where no SEC school will end up in the final four but then Alabama has a way of getting better each week so time will tell.  Either way it goes Tennessee's Volunteer football team is seemingly having a very special, lucky, year this year.
