They are not a member of any Baptist Association. They are independent, as I had said earlier anyone can form a group and use the word baptist to describe it, there is nothing any of the Baptist Association's can do about it.
The problem is that there is no organized effort to document what they are doing, a lot of what they do is outside of protected free speech and is clearly harassment however the people on the receiving end are not getting audio and video of what is happening to them but the Westboro folks are documenting everything. If someone tries to sue or file charges, Westboro has documentation they can edit to their liking but the people they are provoking have nothing to show for proof. Westboro tries to provoke people and document their reactions so that they can sue and make money. This is not a "pass a law" issue. It is an issue of people need to band together and fight back.
