Reply to "Whatcha readin'?"

Hi Joy,

Right now, I am in the middle of rereading William Safire's book "Freedom - A Novel Of Abraham Lincoln And The Civil War." Even though it is a 1500 page book, I am enjoying it even more the second time -- and finding nuggets I missed in the first reading.

Sometimes a book will begin slow, almost boring, and then spring to life and be really exciting. Such a book is Jimmy Carter's (yep, same Jimmy Carter who lived in the White House) book "The Hornet's Nest" -- a historical novel about the Revolutionary War. Normally, we think of the Northeast (Virginia to Massachusetts) when we consider the Revolutionary War. But, this book is about the effects of that war on the Southeastern states. Very interesting -- and a great way to learn more about the Revolutionary War..

God bless, have a wonderful, blessed day,

Bill
