At Thanksgiving dinner on Long Island in November 1983, several family members openly expressed worry about Kaufman's persistent coughing . He claimed that he had been coughing for nearly a month, visited his doctor, and been told that nothing was wrong. When he returned to Los Angeles, he consulted another physician, and then checked himself into Cedars-Sinai Medical Center for a series of medical tests. A few days later, he was diagnosed with large-cell carcinoma , an extremely rare type...

Not necessarily having to do with roundabouts I will comment on the mall issue. I saw a similar decline of one of Chattanooga, Tennessee's malls many years ago and way before Amazon was ever a thought in Bezos mind. It was known as " Eastgate " mall but out of despair came salvation but no longer as a shopping environment. Eastgate, including many of the large anchor stores, transformed into an office environment and business centers with one being a call center. The mall is still a business...

Pigeon Forge had the Red Roof shopping center that dropped to just a few stores and the Belz Blue Roof all but completely closed down. In that area is also the Green Roof which is still going strong. It's a Tanger outlet by the same owners of the giant 5 Oaks Tanger outlet located in Sevierville. Which is the reason the Pigeon Forge shopping was left on life support.

I believe that one reason that the outlets, most everywhere, have diminished in their attraction is that fewer are seen as actually having bargains or outlet prices. People are finding that they don't have to travel to certain locations to obtain great prices but can oftentimes find those great prices from their couch or bed, in other words off their laptop or desktop computer or smartphone. Then they add to the savings the money they saved in gas, traveling, along with the motel bill. Then...

The Coleman outlet set up in the parking lot while parts of the Belz outlet or Blue roof was being demolished. Just a few miles from me in north Mississippi a Tanger outlet was built which also had little to no outlet prices. Collierville built a large outdoor shopping center. It's door to door like the Tanger outlets, said they didn't want a covered mall because it was just a drop off for parents to rid themselves of the kids. The kids had money to eat with but nothing to do but roam and...

Stay away from Lewisburg Tn. When wal marts got people with Alabama tags waiting on gas and buying up gas cans the Lewisburg Tn WalMarts raised gas prices by 20 cents while people from Alabama waited in line. They also raised prices on gas cans and generators. In other words, the people who came here from Alabama needing goods and services because of Alabamas devestatios are getting gouged by walmarts 1 local station hasnt raised its price. Now you know why wally world is king!

Even if legal and within the limits it goes to the character of the owner/operator. Quite a contrast between reports such as the $1500 generator, gas prices jumping as they are and the aftermath of the Japan disasters. Whether instilled or not, into their psyche, reports were always of courteous and thoughtful people. America, the South, and Alabama all have their share of similar type people but then there are those who look to kick someone when they are down..

Put me down for approving. I'm glad that President Obama came, given the damage and his position it was the right thing to do. It's a part of his job and I feel he came on his own accord because he cared. Given Alabama was solidly against him in the last election and most likely in the next if he had played politics then he would have avoided the state and visited Georgia instead but kudos for doing the right thing.

You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make him drink. The extremely small eight legged exo-skeletal creature traversed the drain pipe. A deluge ensued, dispelling said creature. The clouds dispersed, revealing bright light from the gaseous center of our solar system, concurrently evaporating the efluvium from the previous precipitation event. The extremely small eight legged exo-skeletal creature return to its previous emplyment. (This is fun!)

This is one of the best stories that I have seen the Timesdaily print. This article shows that there were many different views and reasons why the civil war was fought. Some men did not know why they were at war with others. Wives feared that husbands and sons might not be returning home and that word would never reach them of were they fell. Lauderdale, Colbert and later the free state of Winston came to represent a different ideal that a lot of people believe the civil war was fought over.
