Re: laminate floors or lanolium?

Neal gave some good advice.....especially about the higher water areas, bath and kitchens. Hope your floor holds up Anna. Ive seen three floating floors in the past six months that are bucking..... one due to mop water even. Not dissing your floor, but they feel hollow when you walk on them. But they are a pretty floor. It would also depend on what you have,... a slab or a subfloor..... i wouldnt use linoleum on a subfloor..... any nail head protruding slightly up will wear through eventually.

Re: laminate floors or lanolium?

A lot will depend upon what you have for a floor now. If you have plywood as flooring, I would suggest the vinyl strips. I believe in the long run, that is best because of the water thing. If you have press board for flooring (that crap made up of wood chips and glue), you will have to put down the floating floor. I have the floating floor in my kitchen and eating area and it's been down close to 5 years. Had some time with water sitting on it, but so far have not had any buckling. I like it...

We just re-modeled our kitchen and put down bamboo lock-in flooring we were hesitant at first after reading the installation process we decided to go with it we have been very pleased thus far, found it at Lowe's for a great great price and color, our house is on a crawl space. Have been in several homes with the liminate flooring and it does sound hollow but ours does not due to the way we installed it. Wishing you success!!!

It drives me crazy when people attempting to say "siren" say "si-reen". I think it's a southern thing....like substituting "aynt" for "aunt" or "holler" for "hollow"...but it's one in particular that bugs me.

Re: Language Peeves

I have a theory about that. I thought perhaps it was because the Greek was pronounced Si-rene. So, I looked it up. The Greek is pronounced that way, but I also learned that Si-rene is an alternate pronunciation for the word, but only for the noise making kind, not the beautiful woman kind. Kinda confusin', huh? As for aunt/aint, it's like Harry Truman and manure. When I hear someone say it should be AUHNT, I think my family does well to say ANT!

I think they are taking about embryo stem cell that can save a lot of people, even you. ''The word embryo (Greek: swelling within) refers to the growing organism from the second to the eighth week of its life. During this time, it develops from a tiny cell cluster into a little growth of about 1 inch in length. As this development proceeds, the placenta, a special organ of interchange, begins to grow between the embryo and the uterus. The embryo is connected to the placenta by the umbilical...

We still have Cotton Fields, and there is a small waterfall at TVA this direction and a much larger one down the river (or is that UP the river) toward Pickwick? Ghost Bridge I have heard many things about, but I am not sure if people still go there or not. Sandy Beach WAS still around about 5 years ago. Happy Hollow is still happy, got friends who live there, lol. The rest, I am not sure about, sorry!!!

Re: whats the best pizza place??

BlueEyedLady ·
I know this may sound strange, but our family loves the thin crust pizza from Happy Hollow Market. It is located on Hwy 47 (Old Jackson Hwy) just North of Happy Hollow bridge. We would rather order from there than from anywhere else. In fact, I don't even recall the last time we did order from another pizza place.

I am going to call someone before I start home to check on the status to see which route I will have to take. Of course the traffic on 72 was horrible. Cars were lined up on Old Bailey Springs Road trying to get get out onto 72.There...

The regions have been autonomous and had a civil war in the early 1990's. Saakashvlli, supported and encouraged by the US, stared up trouble again. He declared he would take back the regions and already used his military to seize other break away regions. People live on both sides of the border and in Russia also. The $100,000 a year over a couple of years to a lobbyist firm is small change. KStreeters would call it charity work. The connection is public record, as is all lobbyist work for foreign nations. My "Paw Paw" will sit in deep thought for a moment, then will begin to verbalize his thoughts with "If a feller were to..." So, sometimes he would talk about a place around here somewhere that was (I can't remember the name of the place) ???? Holler. For all of my childhood and a few years as an adult I assumed it was actually ???? Hollow. Then, one day I saw the name in print, maybe on a sign, and sure enough it was ???? Holler. Yes, that accent is definitely still thriving. I love it though.

So far, all we have from you is your word, your opinion, which we have for a long time known is flawed because of your worship of your secular gods. Since you cannot prove that God does not exist -- then, by your own logic -- He does exist. Better watch out! He's watching you! God bless, have a wonderful, blessed day, Bill
