I've long advocated that members of the US Congress be limited as to terms they may serve. I also believe they should be treated like soldiers circa WWII. Make them stay in barracks. House would have the bunk beds, with a couple of small roomas like the corporals used to have for the Speaker of the House and majority/minority leaders. Senate would have single beds as they are the senior branch. Meals all to be at a messhall, with MREs for lunch. Provide a school bus to transport them to and...

Cracker Barrel for mornings, Sonic lunch and Corky's, Texas Roadhouse, Popeye's/KFC or Firehouse subs for dinner. I will lunch at Sam's or Costco's at times, still great prices.

Wish we had a choice for Firehouse in the Shoals but have no idea when that will happen. Until then closest here, to Firehouse's steamed subs is Mama Goldberg's. Haven't tried Costco as, like Firehouse we don't have one in the Shoals, but Sam's is good and very affordable but I didn't like it when they substituted their brand hot dogs for the 1/4 lb Nathan brand they used to use. I'd of payed a bit more for the Nathan's. As for Sonic they haven't seen any drop in business as you still eat at...

I would think that Central is within the Florence Police Jurisdiction, and personally I am always glad to see these officers out on patrol. I don't have a problem with people building boats that float. Why wouldn't they know how to do that? That would be like being amazed if they built a house from descriptions written in the bible. Why couldn't they? What I don't buy is that some old man lived hundreds of years, built a boat large enough to hold all the animals it supposedly held, and now we even have some claiming it also carried dinosaurs, albeit they were babies. As unob pointed out, you'd think a god powerful enough to...

CrustyChild and I ate at the Rice Box late last night - near closing time. Food was good as usual - not nearly as crowded as when we tried to go for lunch. CC says the sushi - she likes Calfornia Rolls - is quite good. I don't do sushi, unless oysters on the half shell and tuna salad qualify as sushi. My only complaint is that I wish they served a more traditional Chinese format - ordering dishes and sharing - instead of ordering meals. I had egg foo young last night - again, delicious - but...

Well I thought I have eaten raw stuff before so I will try it, I got the Tuna and cheese and the crunch shrimp. Well it wasn't bad, I was eating on my sushi and feeling "Rather Sophisticated". Several years back when my husband and I were dating he had sushi for the first time I played my practical joke on him and told him it was guacamole. He did the same thing and put the whole thing on 1 piece of sushi. I guess I am lucky we got married after that, but now we both laugh about it. The Rice Box does have good food, we went there on Suday afternoon and did not have to wait around 3pm a late lunch early supper

Well, I tried lunch at Smack's today. It was my first time, and my last time. Over priced, under served, and just plain bad. I had a little bowl of carrots, a little bowl, and I do mean little, of cabbage, and a very small piece of corn on the cob, and a glass of tea. Oh, and no bread. It cost $7.10. I might not have minded paying that much if it had been good, but it wasn't even close to being good.

I agree. It's not unlike the Hollywood Grill fare: Whatever you want as long as its fried. Warmed up canned veggies, bad atmosphere and service with an attitude. I don't understand what some folks see in this place when a Cracker Barrel or a few "food troughs" are right down the road. To each his own, I reckon.

The older I get, the more I realize that there are only a very few of us who have the ability to empathize and/or see what someone else's 'side' might be.
