What’s the rationale for all of these new voting restrictions? Preventing voter fraud -- which might make sense if anyone could find any to prevent. Law professor Justin Levitt points out that since 2000 there have been more UFO sightings in the U.S. than documented cases of the type of voter fraud that could be prevented by photo ID— just nine cases of impersonation between 2000 and 2006 out of more than 400 million votes cast. An old Nun who was living in a convent next to a construction site noticed the co**** language of the workers and decided to spend some time with them to correct their ways. She decided she would take her lunch, sit with the workers and talk with them. She put her sandwich in a brown bag and walked over to the spot where the men were eating. Sporting a big smile, she walked up to the group and asked: "And do you men know Jesus Christ?" They shook their heads and looked at each other . . .

Could Jesus' house in Nazareth have been found?

While conducting a wider archaeological study of Nazareth and its hinterland, in Israel, Dr Ken Dark identified a Byzantine church with a crypt or cellar containing a first-century AD house. Syrian war makes sudden appearance at convent in historic Christian town

Re: Should Pastors Be Paid A Salary?

Former Member ·
Some orders of priests take vows of poverty. I think this allows them to give up things that are materialistic, and devote their lives to the Lord. Doesn't work for Parish priests, though. They have to eat, buy clothes, entertainment, etc. In denominations in which the pastors are married, it is inconceivable that they could not take a salary- they have a family to support. True religious life (ie in a Monastery or Convent) is the only place this would work.
