Why do you think an elected officials might refuse to meet to discuss or even hear the viewpoints of people who might be affected by their actions?

The recent matter of the Councilman who did not attend a meeting to discuss the rezoning of land presently occupied by a trailer park has been in both the televised and print news. Assuming that they were to elected to represent their constituents, this seems worthy of comment. Do you buy the notion that the possibility of integrity being maligned is a justifiable reason?

1. He or she made up his/her mind: don't confuse with possible facts or persuasive arguments.

2. He or she simply lacks the guts to take criticism.

3. Other.
