of the City of Florence sign ordinance!

The printed directional signs distributed by the TD are on 11 X 17 hot pink poster board with a double-ended arrow. The points of the arrow are outlined in black with instructions below to "Color in arrow point to indicate direction of yard sale." The obvious expectation here is that these directional signs will be posted somewhere other than at the location of the garage sale, and where is that likely to be? Why, where else but along the public roads, and in the public rights of ways where they will be seen by passing motorists, and where such placement will be IN VIOLATION of the sign ordinance, which prohibits signs in the rights of way other than those placed by governmental bodies, such as traffic control signs!

The TD, by furnishing such signs, is contributing to the proliferation of unsightly visual clutter and, whether knowingly or otherwise, is encouraging violation of the sign ordinance by providing signage which, by its very design, begs to be placed in locations that are illegal to use for placement of signs.

Will the TD stop this odious practice??

If not, then what will the TD do with the numerous such illegal signs removed from public rights of way and delivered to the TD's offices?
