The number that I heard wasn't as big, but it was not cheap.

I also heard that MS and Florence split the cost and that MS had sold enough ads to recoup their cost. Not sure if Florence did or not. I didn't hear anything about that.

You gotta think about the crew and the amount of gear that goes into a production like that. THEN, factor in the airtime and whatnot.... it ain't cheap.

and? whats the problem?
Well let's see... Proration has made things soooo tight...we don't have enough funding to hire any new teachers and in some cases hold on to what we got...we don't have enough money to fix our stadium track and it is too dangerous to be allowed to walk on, except for thje children that we put on it for P.E. and the students and staff that have to be on it during game time.... and besides it would look bad to fix this during these tough economic times. But we do have money for elaborate decorations on the back of our Jumbo scoreboard, and to paint the stadium walls and sod the field and surrounding areas and oh yeah spend thousands on putting a game on TV....and THAT does not look bad!?!?

It was probably closer to $10k - $15k. Truck rental, generator, sat truck, sat time, crew, and broadcast time gets expensive.

The schools don't pay for the production. Comcast pays for it and recoups their money through sponsorships.
