hey i mentioned this a couple weeks ago and was jumped.
I think this shows
1. the blatant neglect by the forum moderator. She is on here every day,the titles of these threads(in case she is too "busy" to read) is very well an indicator of the content of the threads.
2. Those who post in the news are doing it intentionally to get attention they feel their post should get,as there are a couple who post so much bull in politics its gotten to the point of OBSESSION.
When you post a new topic, you have a drop down menu at the top that allows you to choose what section to post it in. Whatever section you happen to be in will automatically be chosen, but you do have the option to change it to another section before posting.

I think people are doing this deliberately because they (1) are being ignored in the politics section (2) obsessed with running down or campaigning for someone, or (3) just want to annoy people.
Although it could easily be argued that during the height of election season, politics IS news (if you don't believe me, turn on the "news channel" of your choice and watch for half an hour), I totally agree that since there IS a forum set aside for politics, that forum should be used. The zealots on either side of the political spectrum are intentionally usurping the news forum with propaganda, and I would love to see a halt put to the practice. If I want to hear a lot of crying but the daycare center is closed, or if I wanna see a lot of poop-flinging but the monkey exhibit at the zoo is undergoing renovation, I can always visit the politics forum. Could we keep it contained to that forum please?

Well, that one and the religion one. Big Grin

That was me. If you are reading an article then click the post a comment, it sends it to news, even if its sports or another topic. Click at the bottom of one and see if you get something different.
I think one poster purposely moved to news because he had already saturated the political realm. Rhymes with KK. Wink
I apologize because I just did one of those myself... I came onto the website and went straight to "New Discussion" and it didn't ask me where to put it. It put it into the news section for me.

I realize now that I should have gone into politics first and THEN started a new discussion.

So, I can't speak for everyone else, but I'm sorry about mine.

It won't ask you where to put it, but when you are starting the thread -- where your title is and everything and that is where the drop down menu is to put it in the specific section...

BTW -- Politics may be all the buzz for the entire world, but that still doesn't make it news to me...politics is politics -- 2 things you should never discuss politics and religion -- hence part of why there are specific sections for both topics...that way the rest of us can stay away from them if we choose without having to sort through them...

I think the mods role in it goes back to that whole "favoritism" "special treatment" "who you know" kind of thing because certain posters get away with a whole lot of stuff that the rest of us would get suspended for on here.
Hi,

When I first was able to post a new discussion, I goofed several times. Evidently the Eve Software does not always do as it should. I found that if I was sitting on a particular Forum, say News, and wanted to post my discussion in Politics -- using the Pull-down Menu did not work. Even if I selected another, say the Politics Forum -- it would still put the discussion on the News Forum, where I was sitting.

To me sure, I now select the Forum I want to post on first -- make sure I am sitting on the right Forum -- and then post my discussion. Since I began doing this -- I have not misposted again.

God bless, have a wonderful, blessed day,

Bill
