And here again, WE AGREE. We certainly do need more personal responsibility. We need to better educate of children of the consequences of their actions and their personal responsibility to be good citizens.
Here's another one for you ferryl (this just eats me up) My sons school just rebuilt they're cafateria. It was gutted and rebuilt (200 square feet larger). They also now have a number of big screen TVs and a stage in the lunchroom. Then last week my son was telling me how the kids have to push three desks together to share a book in social studies.

Where were their priorities? Where was the accountablity? Why are my tax money going to buy big screen TVs when the kids don't even have enough books? Their going on a spending spree with our hard earned cash and leaving our children in the dust.

That's a good one. I'll bet their gym and sports facilities are top notch too.

New gym, built a few years ago. Isn't that sickening.

I totally agree. The county curriculum is a joke. We're graduating kids that can barely read and write while wearing pants that hang to their knees then wondering why they can't get jobs.

Let me tell you a story. I own my own business and one day one of my employees came in with his hair dyed purple, hanging in his eyes and what appeared to be a fish hook in his lip. I told him he had to go home until his hair was back normal colored and out of his eyes and that disgusting fish hook was out of his lip. He couldn't understand this and explained to me that he was just trying to express himself. I told him so am I and unfortunatly your self expression clashes with the self expression of my business. He argued with me up and down about it. Finally, I asked him....what exactly is it your trying to express? Because all I'm getting is this guy is a moronic idiot. Is that what your trying to express to me? I'm all for self expression and understand your trying to find yourself. But you need to look for yourself on your time, not mine.

I was young once. I self expressed. But I knew better than to self express at work. I knew enough to understand that looking scary or ridiculous wasn't gonna earn me any brownie points when looking for a job.

Don't even let me start on the work ethics of kids today.
I would have done the same thing. I had some wild hippie carribean shirts I wore when I was teenager on the weekends. But at school or work I wore normal clothes. My dad wouldn't have allowed the long hair or piercings. I know exactly where you're going on work ethics. I can remember complaining to my dad that all I ever did was work when I was a kid. Thank you dad.
