Sorry to burst your bubble, bammer fans:

This a.m. on a Columbia, SC TV station, Spurrier denied that he is going to bammer, nor is he a candidate for consideration. He even said that last week and Saturday after the 'Cocks beat Clemson.

Second, Houston Nutt this morning announced that he was approached and turned down bammer's offer as head coach.

I have sources if you so desire to see them.

Face it: since bahr bryant left in 1982 and died in 1983, the coaching carousel that is bammer has been fun to watch....Perkin (left to return to the NFL), Curry (never accepted, left for Kentucky), Stallings (best coach since bahr, run off to his ranch in 1996), Dumbose (fired), Price (fired after 4 months), Shula (fired). That is 6 coaches....since 1983. 1 didn't even get to coach a game.

Auburn since Shug left in 1975: Barfield (fired), Dye (retired), Bowden tater tot (resigned mid season), Tubby (still around after completing his 8th season). That is 4 coaches since 1975....and only 1 really fired (Bowden probably would have been fired if he stuck around).

Neither of the above include "interim" coaches (Bill Oliver in 1998 for Auburn and Joe Kines in 2006 for bammer).

My, what a difference!!!

I have even heard bammer's state that the Auburn games had nothing to do with it. I disagree. Don't tell me 0-4 under Shula, 0-5 straight, and 1-6 since 2000 against Auburn doesn't make the bammer's mad.....if that is the case, Auburn doesn't matter, then what was bahr bryant's hiring in 1957-58 related too????

Like Pat Dye stated last week: until bammer gets rid of the hat...., Alabama will be a mess.

Around and around the bowl, where he stops, no one knows....ROYAL FLUSH!!! WDE!!!

I'm not just a fan, Auburn Class of 1994 to be exact......
Quotes from Spurrier and Nick Saban.......

Saban Says He Has No interest In Alabama Job
(AP) DAVIE Miami Dolphins coach Nick Saban says he has no interest in the Alabama job, which became vacant today when Mike
Shula was fired.

There had been speculation about the Crimson Tide pursuing Saban.

He says he hasn't been contacted by the school, and doesn't want to be.

Saban says he is "not interested in any other circumstances or situations anyplace else."

Saban is in his second season with the Dolphins, who are 5-and-6 after winning their past four games. Shula was fired after going 6-and-6 this season.

Saban says Shula did a good job at Alabama and that he should have been given an opportunity to stay.

Spurrier planning to stick with the Gamecocks

(Columbia) November 27, 2006 - There have been rumors flying that University of South Carolina coach Steve Spurrier was considering leaving the Gamecocks, after Alabama football coach Mike Shula was fired Monday.

But Spurrier is trying to discredit that speculation, saying via phone, "I have no intention of leaving South Carolina. It's always flattering when a South Carolina coach is rumored for these big time programs. This one will die down in two or three days, too."

with that said, here is a link to tidefans.com... alot of useful info here for the next few weeks anyway..

And please don't worry about us Tigers at all Joy....our FIFTH STRAIGHT therapy session just ended very happily with a 22-15 score and with THE LOSERS throwing projectiles at our players...so who needs the therapy now????? I don't think Auburn fans are the ones who need to "get over it"!

Woo, hoo...you all started this silliness. I just responded. Just so you know, I wasn't there to throw anything. I do, however, remember walking out of a Auburn/Alabama game and some drunk Auburn fan cussing me for wearing crimson and dumping his drink all over me.

Wow, you got a drink spilled on you at a sporting event? Imagine that. I don't think I've ever heard of that happening before. Eeker

Thank you. My point exactly.

Confused Yep, just as I suspected. You Bammer folks couldn't detect sarcasm with two hands and a flashlight! (Duh) If the worst thing that ever happens to you is you get a little drinkie spilled on you, count yourself fortunate. At least it wasn't a bottle to your head.

I got your sarcasm. You proved my point with it. There are morons who act like morons among every group of fans. This obviously includes Auburn as well.
When I was 10, and attending my first ever Atlanta Braves game on 4 July 1982, some Ga Tech students sitting behind us poured some bear or booze on top of my head....

However, throwing bottles and garbage onto the field, regardless of whose fans are doing it (try an LSU game, or UGA game, or even FlorIDah game at those campuses, those places are bad) is wrong.

Okay, are you Auburn fans sitting down? This may come as a great shock. We Bama fans actually know the Bear's dead. Yes, I know this is new information for you and may be hard to deal with, but, with enough therapy, you CAN get through this.

Then ACT like it. Apparently, Mal Moore, Bahr Bryant, JR, sidewalk fans, etc. have forgotten....and are looking for the 8th coach AB (after Bahr) currently....maybe someone needs to send them a note or obituary to remind them.

How exactly was I not acting like it? Why are you guys obsessed with Bama anyway? Aren't you Auburn fans? Furthermore, how in the world could you possibly know what's going on in the minds of Bama's Athletic Department or whether or not Bear's name is ever mentioned in a meeting? Geez, people, football is a great American tradition that I happen to enjoy, but it's a game! Chill out, already.

Surely you're kidding... right?

Why would I be kidding?
Name a positive thing Mal Moore has done - you can't with contradicting yourself. Good hire in Shula - never mind, fired. Good hire in Price - oops, your fired. The record speaks for itself.

As clueless as Shula looked sometimes, Mal Moore looks and acts 10 times as clueless.

If reports are true that UA has hired a search firm (head hunter) then what are they paying Moore for?
He brings in the big dollars and builds nice stadiums and sidewalks so he pleases the board and that is all that seems to matter to the Bama elite.

imho - hire Rodriquez to coach, fire Moore and try to talk Ozzie to come home to be AD.
