has anyone else noticed that the people who work for the colbert county humane society drive those trucks on their off time to pick up grocerys, run family errands, and what not. i have even seen them driving the trucks in florence just joy riding it seemed they were just driving through a neighborhood not going anywhere. to me this is a waste of taxpayers money, and something needs to be done.

These people are not on 24 hour call. I know two people that have tried to get them to come out to take care of a "strange acting" stray. They could not get a hold of them and called the Sheriffs office. An officer came out and tried to get a hold of the shelter people with no luck. The officer told him that he could not do anything else and left.
If there is an emergency it will probably be taken care of by someone else and then let the shelter people come and pick up the carcass.
If these people are on call they should stay in Colbert County and not in Lauderdale County.
If you think Colbert County is bad you should come to Lauderdale. The municipal and/or county tags on the vehicles over here can be seen almost anywhere, at any time. Just yesterday, on Cox Creek I saw four young girls (highschool) in a municipal car. Reckon they must have "borrowed" Mom or Dads because there was no way any of them were over 17. Certain department employees are seen for hour and a half breakfasts (after work starts) and two hour lunches at the local fast food joints. I won't even get into where they are seen after work hours and on weekends.
one thing i have notice is that city of florenc and lauderdale co all or most of them have there logo on the doors so you know that it is a city or county vehicle but the city of muscle shoals don't have any logo's on there doors i thinks all city and county vehicle's should have them and that will help a little so that they are not where they shouldn't be and just riding around.
