2nd best burger after Staggs?

I think everyone would love to work at this iconic diner CEOs,doctors,lawyers,Presidents,janitors,carpenters,race car driver,anyone it is of legend

Well, I must admit it - I went to Staggs for the very first time today at lunch. That is one mighty tasty burger! The only one I think I've had in the area that compares is Legends.

Now I can't wait to hit Staggs for breakfast.

Two places that I can think of that are as good if not equal to Staggs.

Place in Fort Payne called Jack's(not like the chain Jacks) that made the best burgers. Really old fashioned.

And a chain place called Central Park. They really had some tasty burgers and spicy fries.

No Obama for me. I'm full of it thank you.

Yes Jadds is very good,but Staggs is very GREAT

Staggs is the WORST. I got talked into eating there a few years ago before we moved and I wondered at the time if a person could die from grease poisoning. My plate was swimming in grease....yuck.

I've pretty much gotten away from eating hamburgers in the last 6-8 months. If I do, it's a turkey burger or a garden burger on a whole wheat bun. I trying to stay away from red meat of any kind as much as possible.

Who ever told you Staggs was HEALTH FOOD???? And secondly who asked about your eating habits?

Oh, I am so glad somebody said it. I agree, TDB. I am not impressed with them either. I like a JUICY burger, not a greasy one...big difference.

This entire thread as well as some more on the subject of Staggs is an advertiaing ploy!!!

Mr. Nads seems to think this is his playground.

There are 58 posts on this thread. Fifteen of them belong to William. Me thinkest the gentlemen protesteth too much! As long as I or anyone else posts on this thread it will stay at the top of the list. I will not post on it anymore so as not to contribute to that scheme.

I like the Cheesburgers from Cold Water Cafe on Hatch in Sheffield. Also, when travelling, Steak and Shake are hard to beat. Wish we had one here.

I've been known to have a Jadd burger or two. But the best that were ever around here was the Big-E-Nuff, but it's been closed for years.

Dubs in Athens is very good

Dub's has been recommended by many and I hope to try it one day. I also found that Five Guys in Decatur is also very good. I am one though that likes Staggs and think it's great that they can still operate on the honor system. Hardees also makes a good burger with the Thickburger but I wouldn't (my own taste) rank it above Staggs. The Homeside grille in Petersville/Cloverdale is also a great place to get a home made never frozen burger and my wife likes it better than Staggs.

Remember there are folks that love Krystals (myself included) if the right mood strikes. Sometimes you just have to be in the mood for something and could be Staggs or Hardees is in that catagory also.

Five Guys is very good......Dubs is really good too however you may like it as you state everyone has different tastes but going EAST on 72 when you arrive at the intersection with BK on the left and KFC on the right i believe it is Jefferson turn LEFT and go a bit til you see a OLD shopping strip on the LEFT and you will see Dubs....Hours 8AM-2PM, Monday thru Saturday.....Credit/Debit Cards NOT ACCEPTED .....More menu choices than Staggs still not a lot though,more seating than Staggs with tables and also stools around the food bar and you have full view of the food being cooked

Jacks usually has burgers with mushrooms although i dont like their food that much,but if ya like Jacks then there ya go

I tried Stagg's and thought it was pretty good. I'm new to the area but we had a burger joint called the Rusty Nail and they made their burgers with butter and a hint of cinniman in them and those things were to die for. Is there anything around here that makes a hand patted pattie and has buttered toasted buns? I'm getting hungry!

You're right, WT. That's Staggs secret too. Cinnamon and butter mixed with the hamburger meat.

There's a little hole in the wall up in Molton on the square. They make the best greasy hamburgers you can find.

The Whopper is great

I usually order the whopper jr with a side of onion rings. I love their onion rings

Yeah, I think this is an advertising ploy for Stagg's as well.
Kinda like a while back somebody kept making post trashing O'Charlies.
