Seems as though no one talks on the phone anymore, all I hear is text me. I prefer to dial the number, talk to the person, find out what I want to know, & hang up. By the time you text, wait for that person to see the text & text you back, several hours could pass.

Which do you prefer, or do the most of?

Talk.  The only time I text is when I or any other hunter is on the stand and has taken a shot.  So as not to disturb other hunter’s hunt, who heard the shot, we text "down" or "missed."  After the hunt, we’ll assemble to do what’s required...track, drag, ridicule you, whatever.

Talk.  If it’s an emergency, call us...even one of us.  Hunts over right then and we’re responding to the problem.

Talk/voice mail.  Because it’s easier, quicker, efficient, and most of all safer.

To parody a C&W song, if you don’t get a text message, it’s from me.

I prefer to talk, but there is times when I am brain scrambled due to information overload from making too many decisions and dealing with too many people.

Texting is nice if a regular customer sends me to a property, because they have entered the address and number and there is no dispute that I wrote down the wrong information. When you send a text, they may not get the information immediately and you are not bogged down waiting on them to answer the phone, but the information will certainly get to them. this gives me the opportunity to move on to another project.

Excellent points, Gus

I hate phones altogether. Mine sits at home with a dead battery, mostly.

When I do have to use it to track down a part for something or to call my daughter, I prefer to talk.

My tracfone brick has an old school 'hit each key several times until the right letter/character is selected' keypad and so is a royal pain in the thumb to use.

Do any of you text while driving?

Last week, I turned off Avalon in Muscle Shoals, going toward Patton Island bridge. I was in the center lane, a UPS truck to my right. As usual, drivers side door was open. This UPS driver was texting, & continued to do so until I lost him when he turned on Veterans Dr.

I wasn't able to get his complete tag number to report him.
