that's the problem with the world.
Everybody's skeptical, everybody's suspicious of the motives of others.
We are called to be "childlike" in our Faith.
Why not just "CHOOSE" to believe this is possible, instead of choosing to doubt or disbelieve?
I'm so frustrated by the cynicism and negativity surrounding us. What if this child truly did have this beautiful experience (and I believe he did)...
We should not be shocked, or suprised- just sing Glory to God in the Highest. And pray that we may be made worthy of the Promises of Christ.
And Crusty- no disrespect to you, my friend. I know it is SOOO easy to be skeptical: our world is no longer conducive to blind faith and trust. Therein lies my frustration. We have to have our guards on all the time- but maybe if we let them down just a little, we will open our hearts to the Incredible Love of our Lord, poured out in this child's story...
just my 2cents...

TD people aren't going to believe (well, most of them aren't) anything Veep.

Yes, I am beginning to see that. Its a pi$$ing contest, not a place for valid and honest discussion. Very disheartened by our little group in here. Unravelling too fast-- there are no pleasant threads or conversations in here.

there hasn't been for ages. i got lambasted from both sides when i mentioned it. but everyone likes you, maybe you'll be safe.
i hope so anyway.
No, I've got my "haters" lol. I suppose we all do in here.
Its getting ridiculous, seriously.
I keep thinking back to that "How to debate a Christian" flowchart (Uno, maybe?)
If your position is intractable, do not discuss.
Probably good advice.
My positions are intractable. Smiler

let us also remember the 'balloon boy'.

the kid might have known all of the things he 'couldn't have known' because he was being coached by the dad and/or mom.

The "kid" might not have "known" anything. All we know is what some shysters "said" that the kid knew. This has all of the characteristics of a hoax. It is a sad commentary on the ignorance a gullibility of the public.

Don't let the door hit you on the way out. The time for being nice to religious morons(but, I repeat myself) has long passed.

a word of advise.

i... i am an undecided Ahole.
NSNS.. Unob.. they are athiest Aholes.
Peter and bill grey.. god loving Aholes.

you need to back up off of Veep.
whether she believes in god or whether she doesn't, she is one of the best people i've ever come across. i'm sure i'm not hte only who feels protective of Vplee.
Veep is beloved in this forum, and i'd join ranks with bill gray or nsns to defender her, and i suspect nsns and most other people feel the same way.
she is sweet, she is kind, she tries her best to offer a kind word for everyone in this forum, regardless of their beliefe or lack thereof.
jump me.. make fun of bill... attack nsns..
tread lightly with Veep, or you will make a whole lot of enemies from all sides really really fast.
she is the only person i believe everyone from all points of view can agree is a truly good person.

I thought it was H.L. Mencken that said that.
Thanks, Nagel, for your kind words.
But thats truly okay. If Mr. Hendrix needs a day of reckoning against "religious morons" well, lets' hear what he's got to say.
Bring it, Jimi.
Tell me how you know that I'm a "moron."
Tell me what your beef with me is. I promise, I can take it. Let's get your hostility out of the way..
Then we can move on to more constructive dialogue. K?

If Heaven is a place then no one has even been there yet besides Jesus.( I greatly dissagree, see my note above.) Truth is the believer can be "in Heaven" while at the same time he/she is on earth. That is because God's Heaven is an state of spiritual enlightenment,( It may be but it is also an actual PLACE. How else could Jesus Christ live there with His body of FLESH and BONES He ascended into Heaven with?) ( Think about it!) and carnal mans heaven is an state of spiritual delusion.

Even the Apostle Paul was "caught up to the third heaven"( This clearly tells me that there are at least 3 levels of Heaven!) THROUGH "the abundance of the revelations" he saw, which is spiritual enlightenment.

2Co 12:1 It is not expedient for me doubtless to glory. I will come to visions and revelations of the Lord.
2Co 12:2 I knew a man in Christ above fourteen years ago, (whether in the body, I cannot tell; or whether out of the body, I cannot tell: God knoweth; ) such an one caught up to the third heaven.( AGAIN< at least 3 LEVELS of heaven!) ( Isnt it wonderful God sent us these clues about His KINGDOM?)
2Co 12:3 And I knew such a man, (whether in the body, or out of the body, I cannot tell: God knoweth; )
2Co 12:4 How that he was caught up into paradise,( Paradfice is also a real place but not the same as heaven, Paridese is a spiritual realm where all DEAD peoples spirits go to wait the final judgement, (that is , the good spirits), !) STUDY THESE THINGS OUT. and heard unspeakable words, which it is not lawful for a man to utter.
2Co 12:5 Of such an one will I glory: yet of myself I will not glory, but in mine infirmities.
2Co 12:6 For though I would desire to glory, I shall not be a fool; for I will say the truth: but now I forbear, lest any man should think of me above that which he seeth me to be, or that he heareth of me.
2Co 12:7 And lest I should be exalted above measure through the abundance of the revelations, there was given to me a thorn in the flesh, the messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I should be exalted above measure.

Simple: religious=moron. There is simply no logical reason to be religious or believe in any God. You are an atheist regarding thousands of Gods. I simply do not believe in one more God than you.

The Book of Mormon is simply another book about an imaginary friend, meaningless in the real world.

I hope it's not the "Zillion Life Forms Outta a Puddle of Goop" thing...
That ones already been done...

The Mary, Mother of God Toaster has already been thought of, so I'm thinking miracle wine, or "organic" viagra.

The Bible says only one life form, but I imagine God could have made the whole zillion.
