Five people were killed and at least 35 others were wounded in weekend shootings in Chicago, bringing the total number of people shot so far this year to at least 3,366 — 981 more than this time last year.

The weekend’s youngest victim was a 13-year-old boy who was shot Friday night as he walked with a group through a vacant lot in West Englewood, police said. He was listed in good condition.

The oldest was a 68-year-old man shot not far away in Englewood early Saturday between a viaduct and a row of houses, police said. He was hit in the hip and his condition was stabilized.

Four people were shot within six blocks of each other over one hour Sunday night.

Police at a homicide scene in the 1700 block of North Mayfield Avenue heard gunfire from a shooting that killed a 22-year-old man and wounded his companion. Shortly afterward, two men with gunshot wounds showed up at Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood. They had been shot in the 5500 block of West North Avenue, police said.

A 30-year-old Indiana man was fatally shot after an argument in Little Village early Sunday. He had just left a club with his girlfriend when two women and a man walked up and started fighting with them, according to his girlfriend.

At some point during the fight, she said, the man was shot and run over with his own car. The man, identified as Rolando Gamino, was pronounced dead Sunday morning.

Overall, 10 people were shot from 6 p.m. Friday to early Saturday; three were killed and 14 wounded from Saturday afternoon to early Sunday; and 13 people were shot, two fatally, from Sunday afternoon to Monday morning.

They'd kill each other and steal the cameras. My goodness, someone should do something about Chicago. Maybe another "community organizer" could help.

Why, isn't this what they wanted, after decades of Democrat maladministration.  Just like that worker's paradise, Venezuela.

People hold signs in Caracas saying, "I'll work for toilet paper!"  En espanol, por favor.
