First of all I hope Derek Henry wins the Heisman and I believe he deserves it.  He's certainly put himself in the same category and sentence as other Heisman winners such as Hershel Walker and Bo Jackson and considering what he did in High School he's proven that he's something special.  There are some sports commentators and other Heisman voters who have alluded to the fact that with Alabama's line that any mediocre running back could have accumulated a lot of yardage.

The reason I believe Henry isn't going to win the Heisman is partially the hatred (all be it hatred might be a little strong) many sportscasters and others have toward anything Alabama, they are going to vote for anyone but an Alabama player.  Second and more important in the discussion I believe that Christian McCaffery also has had an exceptional year and also justly deserves it due to being an exceptional player.   It's too bad that only one will get it because arguments could be made for all three candidates but by and large, my own opinion, Henry deserves the nod because Derek Henry has done nothing but be consistent.  He set Florida High School football records that will most likely stand for many years and he's done what he did at Alabama because he's the talent that he is and I hope he gets it and I feel he should.   That said though I fully believe that there is enough Alabama bias and feelings that all purpose yardage should over shadow Henry's accomplishments.

I hope I have to eat crow and end up proven wrong but I'm afraid that Derek Henry, after such a huge unprecedented year, will end up 2nd in the Heisman voting.

I couldn't see how they couldn't give to the only one with a record
breaking career. Record breaking against the heart of the SEC.
The others will be back, they'll be fine.  Saban has neutralized
much of the ill feelings toward Bama in the last few years.
Today they have different reasons to hate the rolling tide.
One of those reasons would be from the jealousy for the tides
largest and most intense fan base.
ROLL TIDE.......

Nope I can't.   I can say I have (long ago) tasted squirrel and at one time, although I'm not at all proud of it, Possum.  That was when I was a teen and I was treated to such delectable road kill treats (although they didn't come from the road) by a neighbor.  All I can remember about the squirrel was it was very tough and I kept having visions of a rat running around and with regards to the Possum it was just ultra greasy and slimy.  Enough for memories I think I'll just let the sayings speak for themselves and not go trying to prove out any of them.

Next someone will try and serve up a plate of shad.

Kindly show some respect for the shad, a fish of no little significance in the history of this nation:
