I want to address some statements made on social media concerning Sheffield, our schools, students, and administrators by fans from Lexington. Many unkind comments have been made about our students and administration in Sheffield, comments based on a single event that seems to be only more controversial because it happened in Sheffield.

Are our students perfect? They are as perfect as any school’s students. And about our administration and Keith Lankford, our superintendent wasn’t selected by the political process of partisan elections, but accepted the offer of leading our schools knowing the challenges in front of him.

Lankford understands and believes in the connection between education, family, community and commerce. He is working tirelessly to help us understand how all of this is connected, and to improve one area we must work at improving all areas. Test scores are already showing improvement, and we are rated higher than one of our neighboring systems in some areas. Innovative programs are moving forward, offering our students ways to reach their full potential.

Take the time to sit down with Lankford to see his heart and feel his passion for students, teachers, administrators and community rather than posting assumptions and false generalizations on social media. Get to know us before you spread your preconceived notions about us, and you may change your opinion.

I proudly live, work and serve in the city of Sheffield. And I am very proud of our students, teachers, administrators and Superintendent Lankford.

This was a letter to the editor in the Times Daily today.  When Lexington played Sheffield, some Sheffield students did or did not use toy guns and act like they were shooting at the Lexington players. Which was it? Yes or no. If it happened, what was done to prevent future occurances?

Sheffield TN? Remember, you claim to be from TN? What's the deal?

Is there a Sheffield Tn? Educate me.

Plagiarism maybe?

Well hoss, you say you live in TN. So how do you live and work in Sheffield unless it's Sheffield, TN? I'm asking YOU if there's a Sheffield, TN. BTW, do you even know the meaning of plagiarism?

As I stated, and you conviently forgot to read, that was a letter to the editor of the Times Daily today. It concerned an incident that did or did not happen when Lexington Al high school played Sheffield Al high school. As I heard, some kids pointed guns at the Lexington players and acted like they would shoot them. I have not heard of this until the letter to the editor today. The sentence you quote as mine was part of that letter. I do live in Tennessee, but most of my money is spent in Alabama.

You can cut and paste when it suits you, but you still can't provide a link. Just what was on the editorial page? The first part or the second part? What does Sheffield High School have to do with your spending money in Alabama? Still no reason for you to keep your nose in our politics like you do. I spend plenty of money in TN, but I don't push in to their political business, and by the way the muslims are taking TN over, somebody should.
