Gowdy is a lying, scheming weasel and here are the goods:

<<<<<The CIA has weighed in on the Republican Benghazi Committee’s investigation of Hillary Clinton, after Democrats in the House asked the spy agency to declassify some of the numerous details which had been redacted in the various government documents which have been presented as evidence against Clinton. So much of the context has been blacked out that it’s been difficult to tell what the documents actually say. The response from the CIA is stunning: the Republicans are simply lying. All All along, Benghazi Committee Chairman Trey Gowdy, a republican congressman from South Carolina, has insisted that the documents in question were heavily blacked out because they contained information which had been classified by the CIA. But Elijah Cummings, a democratic congressman from Maryland, wrote a letter to the CIA asking it to reveal more details. The agency responded by stating that there never was any classified information in the documents and that it hadn’t blacked out anything.>>>

Read about this sorry, scandalous deception by this sorry little punk Congressman:

________

Yes he does, but from YOUR cited source:

"Trey Gowdy asserted in a letter that an email from Hillary Clinton to outside advisor Sidney Blumenthal contained the classified name of an informant that the intelligence community relies upon, stating, “This information, the name of a human source, is some of the most protected information in our intelligence community, the release of which could jeopardize not only national security but human lives.”

And, your point is?

___

Among other obvious things, the point is that it is NOT Gowdy who makes the call on what is and what is not classified as secret or higher.

That sort of information -- special compartmentalized is considered the most secret.  If such was in the email sent to congress, either a serious breech was made if not redacted, or it was redacted before being sent.  Either does not support your thread and may point to even worse problems at State.

There are plenty of problems at State, but that does not change the focus of my thread, which provided evidence that Gowdy manipulated the truth.

I think I see what is confusing you.  There are three sources of Hillary's emails being obtained.  Trey Gowdy's committee has subpoenaed email concerning Benghazi.  Judicial Watch has subpoenaed email concerning Huma Abedin working both the State Department and the Clinton Foundation, simultaneously (the presiding judge is a Clinton appointee).  Then, there is the FBI investigation concerning her private server, possible classified information on that server, and the Clinton Foundation.  Most of the information about classified info and special compartmented info came from the FBI investigation or the lawsuit.

Again, Gowdy states he never redacted any email.

Stte did not redact it. Gowdy said they did. It has now been unredacted, and State has objection to that.  What does that suggest other than that Gowdy or someone on his committee or committee staff messed with it?
