Russia's Largest Bank Confirms Hiring Podesta Group To Lobby For Ending Sanctions

Russia's largest bank, Sberbank, has confirmed that it hired the consultancy of Tony Podesta, the elder brother of John Podesta who chaired Hillary Clinton's presidential campaign, for lobbying its interests in the United States and proactively seeking the removal of various Obama-era sanctions, the press service of the Russian institution told TASS on Thursday.

"The New York office of Sberbank CIB indeed hired Podesta Group. Engagement of external consultants is part of standard business practices for us," Sberbank said.

Crash made the same dumb mistake. He derided a source as Breitbart, then tried to change the subject when I pointed out that Breitbart usually provides a link to an original source.

again, i pointed out that a source known for 'fake news' isn't a source and your habit of using 'opinion pieces' to support your claims.. to which you admitted.

don't you ever get tired of being corrected.

More hypocrisy of the left, if you needed more. Maybe they could get MSNBC to alter the tapes. We know nothing happens to them when they alter or just make up things.

We have a sitting (well tweeting) President who has been very overt in his praise of Putin and Russia and has more ties to Russia than Bobby Cox to the Atlanta Braves, but he employs smoke n mirrors about a false story about Clinton and a story about Podesta having 75,000 shares of a company... God Bless... I will admit, he is good at distracting his base.  But in fairness, his base isn't all that bright.

Let's see, the politically connected Podesta has a hUGE investment in a company with a hUGE investment from a Russian state controlled investment firm:

The CEO of Rusnano is appointed by the Decree of the President of Russia.

Also John Podesta is the co-founder of the Podesta Group which is currently going to bat for Russia's largest bank to end sanctions on Russia:

They also represent the interests of Russia's largest financial institution Sberbank of Russia, which controls approximately 30 percent of Russian banking assets.[14]

Nope, nothing to worry about; no there, there. Lets all get hot and bothered about Trump and crew trying to get a working relationship with a country with thousands of nukes and a second rate conventional military while we have a third rate military post Ol'bama entitlement spending and the rest of NATO abysmally worse than the US for the same reason squared.

"work a relationship" I appreciate your coy use of the English language as we all know "working a relationship" is not what the concern is.   Also, Trump and his followers seem to misunderstand that as sitting (tweeting) President for him to suggest that all ties to Russia be investigated closely only opens him up to more scrutiny and investigation.    I mean really, you can't make this stuff up!

And my old college professors have to come out in me for a moment... Wikipedia?  Really?  Wikipedia?  Come on.

OBAMA!!!

With Saudi and Russian ties, Clinton machine’s tentacles are far reaching, according to Panama Papers

The Russian Corporation of Nanotechnologies has become the first state corporation to complete reorganization. It was reregistered on March 11, 2011, as open joint-stock company RUSNANO.

One hundred percent of the shares in RUSNANO have become the property of the government. At this moment, the Board of Directors and the Auditing Commission have been formed; the chairman of the Executive Board has been appointed—Anatoly Chubais. During its first meeting, planned for late March 2011, the Board of Directors of RUSNANO will form the Executive Board of the company.

Try the referenced articles at Wikipedia.

I read a lot of wikipedia and love it, just not really a credible source.   I am glad you took my encouragement and posted the real articles thus adding credence to your ramblings.  You're learning now pal!

Now we wait for more of Trumps lies and ties to be exposed but you guys will always have Podesta <looks longingly out of a window>

Sorry if you don't like Wikipedia, but they do often have a list of quality references that they build their articles around and the writers use simple concise English so everyone understands what's being discussed. Also, this ain't Grad school.

Wikipedia is also easily altered and has been to falsehoods on numerous occasions, often making major news because of insane edits.   This is why it is often derided as a source.   But we will always have Podesta!

At least their articles aren't generated by an ouija board like liberal news sources.

The general move by the right wing nuts, especially the tea party.. discredit any reputable news source.   And to be completely honest, I have to give them credit, it is a genius strategy.

With the rise of the most ardent and loud members of the Right, the Tea Party, they formulated a strategy which was simply.. "no matter what the organization, whether it be a reputable news organization, a reputable government overview organization or a bipartisan statistical organization, when they say things that make us look bad or make the opposing party look good, just say 'it's not true.'  Of course, offer no evidence to the contrary, just simply use your efforts and your right wing media mouthpieces to reinforce the idea of it not being true and then spend efforts to discredit the established entity."

Granted, this would not have worked had they not appealed to such a low information base.   But they knew their base and for that you have to give them credit.   These are the same voters who regularly score the lowest in surveys conducted about gathering knowledge of the voters, and also have favorable views of Vladimir Putin.

So, in one respect I have to say kudos for a great strategy and really knowing your base, but at the same time it's terribly irresponsible and dangerous to our democracy.   As Koppel told Hannity, these people are dangerous to our democracy because facts are not important, only the furthering of their ideology is.

The left works in altering facts.
