The University of Tennessee has had what might have been the most dismal season in their history or surely recent history and now they seem to be following it up with the most haphazard, ugly, uncoordinated, and miserable, dismal, coaching search of any power 5 football team.  Tennessee has become the butt of jokes and the laughing stock among many College Football commentators what with their total mishandling of the coaching situation this year.  They are risking losing untold number of prospective recruits and disenchanting whatever talent they currently have residing on the team.

Now for the Irony part.  After all the rejections from many prime candidates and other schools scooping up the top shelf talent Tennessee has put themselves in a situation where their only salvation, in this coaching debacle, is to find a way to convince Lane Kiffen to come back and give it another go.  Lane Kiffen whom many Tennessee fans wanted to kill or see hurt in various ways, may well be Tennessee's salvation for if he was somehow talked into accepting the position once again would instantly give Tennessee credibility back and be a more than attractive draw for future recruits who would want to come play for a Kiffen led Tennessee Team.

I, personally, like Lane Kiffen and I believe he would be the best chance for Tennessee to restore their program to the top of College footballs elite and potentially back to competition with the likes of Alabama, and Georgia and what could be a resurgent Florida.  Tennessee has little time to act though and their chances are most likely really thin but then money talks and that's one thing that Tennessee can do and that is throw money at Kiffen.  But what Irony that, what seems to be, the only salvation for Tennessee is the very one person that most of the fan base abhors and has verbally crucified over the last few years.  All that will be all but forgotten though if Lane can bring back Tennessee into the winning category and I, for one, believe he can.  Heck if Lane Kiffen returns to Tennessee I'll have to make some room for orange my life as I'll began to root for Tennessee again myself, just not against Alabama.  If Lane Kiffen becomes Tennessee's coach then I'll have to move Tennessee to between Alabama and Tennessee in my list of schools I root for and hope wins.
