I have never understood the "Member Rank" of the members that are listed in the Times Daily Forum but one thing is for sure with the exception of "Direstraits" the first 14 ranked members have either all but disappeared or have left the forum for one reason or another.   Jennifer or Bestworking (one in the same) is hopefully doing okay and is in good health but has been missing since January of this year.  If you are still around Best, I hope you are doing well and are not in ill health.  These days I find that I' often don't feel like signing on at times myself due to the way my health has affected me.  Bill Gray was one of the most frequent posters but was banned and most likely will not be back and others on the list seem to be missing with speculation that some have possibly died.

What I'm trying to say is it seems that Community Rank is more an arbitrary thing than reflecting actual activity on the Forum or those who are current versus those who no longer appear on the forum.  Although controversial in many ways, I do miss Bill Gray's contributions as well as I do Semi, Oh No and Joy as well as others.  Other than the date of their last activity/visit there is really no really good way to know what's happened to one of the members or if they even check in anymore.  I very much doubt that the members who have passed will be notifying the Times Daily of their death but hopefully many of those who have been absent or inactive will find a way to come back in and contribute to the forum as we are all stronger with a greater diversity of opinions.

Actually I died three years ago but was sent back because I was
labeled a NDE. I tried to find some people, but I don't know what
any forum people look like except Bill Gray and some spirits gave
me the bums rush so I'm back. It would be a good thing if everyone
would post a photo of themselves so I could recognize people
if we all died. OK then, Good.......

It takes really thick skin to bear with all the hatefulness that this forum has turned into. It used to be a place where opposing opinions was not met with the vileness that is currently here. It is much easier to just leave the group to those who all think the same way about everything so they can Waller in their own disgusting vile.

We had some great times back then, unclegus!!! This place was a fun place and we had a very diverse group of people. We butted heads, from time to time, but we always remained friends. I still talk to "basement cat' and I've even seen 'hossgal' a time or two lately. I miss the fun from the old days. This place has changed for the worse. There's a whole lotta hate here, now days.

Best is doing just fine. There are other places to post where they can't get people banned by ganging up on them, lying about them, and pretending to be offended by things they themselves are guilty of doing. You can have discussions with rational folks. I'll tell her you asked.

I appreciate that Gifted.  Best and I have at times been on vastly different sides of issues and also seen similar on others yet although we have often been at odds and had words over some issues I never felt she should be banned and I never wanted her to leave.  If I ever get to the point that someone starts getting to me I can always click the "Ignore" because it's not usually because of someone else but because of me so sometimes it's better to just step aside for a while, at least for me that is.

I've also, many times, here and offline, found that often we learn as much from our disagreements as we do from agreements and while we may be at odds over some things we find agreements in others.  I may have my rose colored glasses on but I'd like to think folks on here don't let things get too far out of hand and take things (too) personally.

Just looking at the first page of rankings, here are some updates on forum members:

No. 3 - Bill Gray continues to write and you can read some of his work on Pen N Sword. He has an article scheduled on Trump the pragmatist this week.

No. 6 - Semi had one ID after this, but not sure if she's a current poster or not.

No. 9 - Kindred has unfortunately passed away.

No. 10 - Joy is now living and working in Huntsville and continues to live up to her name.

No. 11 - teyates has just become a grandfather for the second time and is doing well!

No. 12 - Oh, No was doing well the last I heard, but do not have a recent update.

No. 13 - Deep Fat remains in California and is well. You can visit his brother's news site at the Quad-Cities Daily.

No. 15 - Hey, that's you GBRK!

No. 19 - Road Puppy had surgery some months ago, but is doing well as far as I know. His sense of humor is not diminished!

No. 25 - Firenze Veritas is happily busy working in home health and with Pen N Sword where you can read her column "Weekly Carp."

No. 28 - Dog Soldier is teaching full time and you can read him as J. Redmon on Shoalanda and Quad-Cities Cuisine

Amazing how much things change and yet remain the same. FV says hello to everyone.

Nothing funnier for some than making jokes about the mentally challenged.  I'd hoped that had changed.  Apparently not #19.

Anyhow, hi FV.  Thanks for the update.  Always thought you had the coolest name.
