Today’s Campaign Update
(Because The Campaign Never Ends)
I wonder what else President Donald Trump will never do? –
“He won’t last a week.”
He won’t stay in this race past the first debate.”
“He never survive those comments about John McCain.”
“He’ll never be able to compete with Jeb!”
“He’ll be out of the race before the Iowa Caucuses.”
“No way he wins the New Hampshire Primary.”
“South Carolina will be the beginning of the end for Donald Trump.”
“No way he beats Ted Cruz in Indiana.”
“No way he survives the Billy Bush tape.”
“He’ll never win Florida.”
“Ohio, Michigan and Pennsylvania are blue states.”
“He’ll resign the office by April.”
“He’ll quit before the end of 2017.”
“He can’t just let the oil industry drill our way to energy security.”
“He’ll never pull out of the Paris Accords.”
“No way he’ll ever get those tax cuts done.”
“He’ll never pull out of the Iran deal.”
“He can’t wave a magic wand and bring all those manufacturing jobs back.”
“He’ll never achieve 3% GDP growth.”
“He’ll never make a deal with Kim Jong un.”
This morning, it continues:
“The U.S. and North Korea are still miles apart.”
“North Korea has already won a lot.” (Huh???)
And on and on and on it will continue, because the fake news media and the Democrats have nothing else – this is all they’ve got.
You want to know who else hates Donald Trump with a renewed passion this morning? The Washington, D.C. professional foreign policy class. Why? Because the President just demonstrated that they are clueless, irrelevant and often counterproductive to our nation’s security.
This class of leeches on the American taxpayer has bumbled, stumbled and fumbled around with the North Korea problem for 64 years, and every effort they’ve made and every diplomatic shibboleth to which they have clung has only made the situation worse. Here comes Donald Trump, this “know-nothing” who doesn’t even speak the passive/aggressive, get-nothing-done, move-at-a-snail’s-pace language of “diplomacy” and rejects every myth these people have constructed around the issue since 1954, and he has an agreement to completely de-nuclearize the Korean Peninsula to send to the Senate for ratification?
Why has this happened? First, because this President, over the course of 14 months, threatened the little Dictator into the realization that his situation was hopeless and that he had a choice of entering into some agreement or end up engaged in a military conflict he had no hope of winning. Second, because the American President allowed him to take the right way out of his mess while saving face. That’s what meeting with Kim face to face – an act no previous president would have even considered on the feverish advice of this foreign policy class of morons – was all about.
The third reason is that this President has also been negotiating this deal with China behind the scenes for more than a year now. The subject of China’s client state has been made a part of every conversation between Donald Trump and Xi Jinping and every negotiation between the two nations on trade and other matters. By strategically making China an integral part of this process, President Trump has also allowed Xi to save face, which is crucially important.
So here we have arrived at an historic turning point in global history, a turning point that holds the promise of making every nation on the face of the earth more secure, and it has happened not because of the efforts and advice of the professional foreign policy class, but in spite of it. Oh, yeah – they hate Trump, they hate him with a passion this morning.
One raving idiot early this morning actually claimed America is “getting nothing” out of this deal. My goodness. Here is what America has already gotten:
- The return of three political prisoners, unharmed, to their families;
- The destruction of Kim’s main nuclear testing facility, which took place a month ago and the fake news media wants you to forget happened;
Here is what America stands to gain:
- The destruction of Kim’s remaining nuclear capability, which Trump expects to happen “quickly”;
- The reduction of nuclear tensions across the globe;
- The stand-down of U.S. armed forces in South Korea after 64 long years;
- The return of the remains of thousands of U.S. servicemen killed during the Korean conflict to their families;
- The saving of tens of billions of dollars every year thanks to being relieved of the burden of having to defend South Korea, Japan, Guam, Hawaii and the U.S. mainland from the machinations of a seemingly mad, nuclear-armed dictator.
- An ultimate end to the uninterrupted risking of thousands of American military lives in a foreign land halfway around the world.
Yeah, that’s a big bag of nothing right there. Where do they find these clowns?
So, add the professional foreign policy class to all the other classes of DC Swamp creatures who already hated this President: The professional campaign class, the professional influence class, the campaign advertising and messaging class, the fake news media class, and all the other classes of DC hangers-on that he has shown to be irrelevant since he announced his campaign in mid-2015.
This is history being made on a grand scale, and it’s all taking place so rapidly that we often hardly have the chance to pause and take it all in. Donald Trump receives and deserves the credit for it, but it’s important to also give credit to the American voter, without whose judgment Mr. Trump would have never assumed office.
The American people took a huge risk on a very unconventional candidate in November 2016, and they are being richly rewarded for having done so.
Just another day of Donald Trump is changing everything America.
