While Dan Mullen isn't new to the SEC he is a new head coach to Florida so count him as number one.  Joe Morehead at Mississippi State.  Jimbo Fisher, another seasoned coach, is new to Texas A&M but with a 75 Million Dollar contract, and could have most likely had gotten more, and almost can't do worse than Kevin did as he seemed to be content coasting along.  Matt Luke at Ole Miss also faces the challenge of a new coach but he did at least have some time last year to prepare.  Then there is Chad Morris at Arkansas and Jeremy Pruitt at Tennessee and both of them should have a Honeymoon period as they attempt to turn their respective programs around.

All these new (at each school) coaches is almost unprecedented and at least hasn't happened since 72 years or more.  Nick Saban has surely made it difficult on the SEC and coaching in the SEC but all you have to do is look around and you'll see most of the current SEC Coaches actually served as assistants to Nick Saban.  Dan Mullen, Will Muschamp, Jimbo Fisher, Jeremy Pruitt and Kirby Smart all were assistants at one time or another with Nick Saban and the respective schools that hired them, I'm sure, are looking for Nick Saban type results and some are giving reason, to their school's fans, to expect that.

Of the current group of coaches, I believe that the one that may have the roughest year is Gus Malzhan, at Auburn.  For one he got a huge pay raise at a time when a percentage of the Auburn fan base wasn't too satisfied with the coaches performance.  I would have also added Ed Orgeron to the coaches that could get into quick trouble but Ed has a much more loyal following than Gus and even though he also received a big payday I think even without a great season I don't think he's going to to have a tough time this coming season as I think they will give him a little while longer.

Given the coming football season most every fan base is going to be hyped up and optimistic but therein lies the potential for problems.  Georgia, with their great last season and number one recruiting class, will have unlimited optimism for the upcoming season so if somehow South Carolina was to upset them early Kirby could quickly find Georgia fans can get disenchanted really fast given their let down from last years defeat to Alabama and Kirby could discover himself a victim of his own success.  Another fan base that may have unreal expectations is the Texas A&M fanbase because not only did they spend 75 million on a new head coach but they made sure to get one that has held up a National Championship trophy at another school so their expectations of him to do the same right away could greet him in the first season.
