The GDP for the second quarter is 4.1 percent.  For the last five quarters, the average is 3.1 percent.  USA rising.  If one included the first quarter of 2017, when Obama was still president for 20 days, the average for those six quarters was 2.8 percent (1.2 percent for the first quarter).

Thank you, President Trump.  No thanks to Obama.

It will only insense Liberals and Democrats who believe Obama hung the moon and worship him still.  This will be seen by them as Trump attempting to show up Obama rather than a natural occurrence related to Trump's policies.  I'm certain also that there will some deranged number that will somehow, someway attempt to find credit in this for Obama.

I hate to rain on this parade, but leftovers from 25 years of idiocy might still affect us all in the near term. Dem run states have coming reality reckonings, some housing markets are out of whack, and some Tech companies aren't viable. I do believe that Trump's free trade push is the best cure for what ails the US, but we still need to handle a few problems very carefully.

I love watching the Demmie Henny Pennies rushing around screaming the sky is falling.  The TD had an editorial article concerning the $12 billion subsidy for agriculture. No, the crops won't rot in the silos and its only a short term patch to counter the Chinese.  China purchases two-thirds of the global soybean market (that sold outside the country the crop is grown in).  If, they buy elsewhere, the other customers must purchase elsewhere.  I see the EU has already agreed to increase purchase significant amounts.

I'm not sure that the EU was really doing the US a favor; probably it was more a matter of practicality. If China buys Brazilian soybeans which is a finite commodity, then whoever was buying Brazilian soybeans would need to buy the fungible commodity of soybeans from someone else, like the US. I imagine that China loses a little bit in the deal because the shipping costs would increase from shipping a longer distance.

If, a third party wishes to buy our soybeans and add a markup for shipping, admin costs and profits to sell to the Chinese, sobeit.  Emperor Ji knows his history, I'm certain.  If the peasants got hungry, they got restless.  If, they got really hungry, they decided the emperor had lost his heavenly mandate. The gates to the Forbidden City got a new ornament -- Emperor's head on a stick.

That would be fair, since much of the Chinese steel comes here via the transshipment process, US soybeans could also be unloaded in another country and then loaded onto another vessel heading to China. I kinda hope one of the Trump clan sees this opportunity; it'd be fun to watch the histrionics from the Dems and Chinese.

This is what the CBO has predicted for the next decade:

Growth of Real GDP and Real Potential GDP

Exactly a carbon copy of the Ol'bama average GDP. But then again the CBO guesstimates may or may not happen:

What I do know is that sometime in the future, there will come a day of wrecktumming if we can't produce more taxpayers, or at least get more people out of entitlements that the country cannot afford to pay for. If Trump fails, according to the CBO, it means Trillion dollar deficits a year or two earlier than  the Ol'bama autopilot Trillion dollar deficits. I think it would be the right time for Trump to treat Congress exactly as he has been treating the rest of the world. He should stop putting his signature on spendthrift budgets until Congress gets serious about cutting spending.
