WASHINGTON—In the wake of the release of a letter implicating the Supreme Court nominee in a sexual assault, Senate Republicans told reporters Monday that they would seek to delay a vote on Brett Kavanaugh’s confirmation until his accuser, Christine Blasey Ford, was properly smeared. “Given the significance of this vote and the accusations at hand, it’s of the utmost importance that we give ourselves the time to carefully drag Miss Ford’s name through the mud and make her regret ever coming forth with these accounts,” said Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY), stressing that he would urge his colleagues to push back any vote on the nomination until the Senate Judiciary Committee had taken every opportunity to tear apart Ford’s character on a national stage, question her mental stability, and repeatedly trivialize her experience of sexual trauma. “We can’t in good conscience confirm Judge Kavanaugh—to the highest court in the land, mind you—without making a serious attempt to find evidence from the accuser’s life suggesting she’s nothing more than a serial liar and attention seeker. If not just to slander her name, than at least to invalidate the experiences of every sexual assault victim in the country.” McConnell stressed that he understood the need for swiftness in the matter, as the Senate would absolutely confirm Kavanaugh regardless of any findings.

The accuser states she remembers this from a repressed memory.  Repressed memories are extremely imperfect, at best. For instance, alien abduction cases and the McMartin Pre-School case are examples.  The accuser can't remember where the party took place, nor when.

Next year, if Feinstein is e-elected, she should be denied any committee positions as she is unreliable, at best.  She sat on this information since July and said nothing until days before the Judiciary Committee's scheduled vote.  She is also on the Intelligence Committee, while employing a Chinese spy on her personal staff for 20 years.

BTW, anyone notice Old Salt's source -- the Onion?

I'm sorry but such an event as she claims happened would NOT be earth shaking or cause a person to repress the memory. My gosh, she described an incident that almost every teen girl has gone through. What she described was not a rape, it was not an attack. IF she was that fragile and unstable she wouldn't be able to function in the world. The democratic party has gone mad!!!

Yes. Strange isn't it.

This is nothing more than an attempt to delay the vote until after midterm elections.  The left's depravity is so great that they are willing to destroy a good man's life/career/reputation just so they can have their way.  If the left can't be in charge, they burn the country to the ground.

When the Democrats couldn't get their way before, they nearly did burn the country down to keep their slaves -- cities left in ruins and up to 750,000 dead (new estimate) and hundreds of thousands more wounded. They'd do the same today.

Old Salt, using The Onion, a satire site, as a source -- did you think this was real, or just getting squirrelly.  If the latter, there might have been something in that salt air you inhaled.

I'm well aware that most articles published by The Onion are satire, including this one.  I never claimed that the article was fact and included the URL so everyone could see the source.

You didn't fool anyone, everyone knows what the Onion is about. I think we were just wondering why you feel the "satire" is relevant or funny, and why use it instead of commenting on the "real" threads. But hey...whatever floats your boat.

Oh, I'm so sorry for not adhering to your forum rules.  From now on, I'll only use "real" sources in a "real" thread.

Ok, enough of the sarcasm.  Yes, I found the article funny.  If you didn't, well, whatever floats your boat.  I tried to deceive nobody.  If one doesn't know that The Onion is mostly satire, that's not my problem.  Everyone should do their own source research.
