In a debate or in a verbal sparing match or even on Twitter the ONE SINGLE question that Trump should ask of whoever the Democratic contender for President in 2020 is.  What moves would you do to change and make this Economy better?   The last thing that any Democrat wants to do is admit that the Economy is so much stronger and greater than when Obama was President.  So not changing or making changes is admitting that what Trump is doing is working.  To answer any other way would reveal how that candidate would potentially harm the economy or stop it's growth in it's tracks.

Right now the Economy is a huge benefit for Trump's 2020 reelection hopes but with the Trade wars with China and potentially Mexico the timing may be such that the Economy could be a detriment.  In this way you can tell Trump is still not a typical politician for a typical politician (Republican or Democrat) would hold off doing anything that might possibly hurt their reelection efforts and that's why nothing ever gets done with typical politicians in office.  Trump cares for America and having America win so he makes moves that might or might not be in his best electoral interest.  That's the mark of a true leader and not a typical political move.  Trump doesn't wake every morning and stick a political finger in the air to sample which way polls are moving/blowing or what the sentiment of focus groups are.  Trump, from his business experience and knowledge, goes forward with achieving his Agenda and to date his moves have been fantastic for the Nation's economy.  Sure there are places that haven't seen the great economy as vividly as some others but overall most all places have improvement and minorities as well as Hispanics have seen record employment and historic low unemployment numbers.

Democrats are worrying how they are going to sell the "woe is me" sermon to minorities when they are experiencing record employment and record benefits.  You can fool people for just so long or attempt to lead them to water for just so long before you have to put up or shut up or be revealed as pandering.  Sure they will have Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton banging away on the drum of discontent but for most Minorities they may begin to question just who it is that is on their side and who it is that is actually making life better for them.

.....When considering the net figures, big businesses paid $91 billion less in 2018 than it had the year prior.

.....But while companies were able to avoid paying taxes thanks to the new Republican tax law, the IRS pulled in roughly $2 trillion from individual tax returns, a leap of nearly $100 billion from the amount collected in 2017.

You do know that is why people are upset about trump's tariffs, right?

Yes there are plenty of people upset about the Tariffs due to their affect on the prices we pay for just about everything.  To me though the question is if you aren't going to protest, at some point, then are you just going to sign the nation over to China?  If you are going to protest and do something a bout it then at what point do you do something?  Do you wait, while everyone is happy paying low prices as China buys up more and more of America and our Debt because if that is the case then it's very easy to realize a time, not too far into the future, where the US couldn't impose any Tariffs and would be in such an economic condition that we'd have no chose but capitulate to whatever China demanded being held economic hostage.

I don't like the Tariffs either but I'd rather suffer pain now than later when the pain isn't optional but mandatory and at China's control.

If you are talking about tariffs for the sake of increasing revenue and the protection of businesses and labor from competition, it truly is a stupid thing to do. If the threat of tariffs levels the playing field for US products because we gave away the farm two decades ago, then a short period of pain will not be so bad.

As for using tariffs to get Mexico to be tougher on illegals crossing their country, I think there's a better way to get compliance. It would be better to threaten to stop sending "development" money to Central America. If El Presidente and the generalisimos have their income slashed, they'll have to tap their Bahamian bank accounts for previous stashed "development" money.
