So A Young Man Can Buy Back His Family Farm

An act of kindness by farmers in Nebraska, has restored our trust in humanity.

Hundreds of farmers in Nebraska kept quiet during an auction so that a young man could win the bid and buy back his family’s farm.

Nebraska farmers

David’s family were farmers for decades but, because an ancestor had sold off their 80-acre farm to a relative who did not have their best interest in mind, which upset the whole family. But David was determined to win it back again.

So when the land was up for sale again through auction, David and his father decided to do whatever possible to win back the farm again.

On the auction day, more than 200 farmers were present there, David and his dad thought their chances were slim to win it, but decided to give it their best shot.

But what the farmers did next surprised David and his family.

When the auctioneer started the auction, David and his father placed their bid, but not a single of the other farmers spoke up.

It turned out that more than 200 farmers had a change of heart about the land and decided to not bid for the land, so that the young farmer could win it back for his family.

After three times, the auctioneer did not get any response from a single farmer, so finally, he slammed down the gavel and gave David and his father the winning bid.

“I’ve had two profoundly humbling days in my life,” David said. “The first was the day my son was born. The second was that unforgettable day at the auction house.”

What an amazing show of solidarity by the farmers towards this family, this act of kindness has surely melted our hearts.

Wonderful Story! These are also the same people that some, in our country, consider deplorable people.  Maybe I shouldn't have inserted that but these are the type of people, from the heartland, that were cited as being unredeemable and deplorable.   I will agree that they won't change and will remain the same type of people that they have always been.  Thankfully!

One wonders how those who deprecate them plan on eating.  Most of their food is produced by the irredeemables and deplorables.

I'm sure they will find a way, after all it's usually do as I say and not as I do with those.  They love implementing harsh restrictions and regulations on everyone other than themselves and those that are in their little club.  Hence the 'Man Made" global warming crowd who have made a fortune on the political side of this yet they go on living in their massive energy using homes and go about life as if there was never going to be an end while wanting got impose draconian standards on everyone else.

I've posted this before.  However, it fits what you stated.

Democrats are reverting to type – founding a neo- Confederacy.  California is the new South Carolina. Add, Oregon, Washington state and Hawaii to complete the set.  New York state and the New England states are the new border states like Missouri, Delaware, Kentucky and Maryland were.

The old confederacy possessed a small extremely wealthy class, a tiny middle class, slaves and large numbers of whites and free blacks in poverty.   The cotton plantation owners and factors such as Lehman Brothers, who traded in cotton, made up the wealthy class.  The small middle class included doctors, lawyers, larger shop owners and few others that catered to the wealthy.  Slave labor depressed the wages of most others.  Now, wealthy donors understand that hiring cheap labor is more cost effective than enslaving a person. Slaves tend to work only enough to keep from being punished and the slaver must care for them.

California’s wealthy class are mostly those in IT, show business and a few industries.  Lawyers and doctors, who cater to the aforementioned, form the upper middle class.  The wealthy use imported labor to depress IT wages at one end and unskilled labor to keep their mansions with well manicured lawns and spick and span – mimicking slavery of old.  Use of such depresses the wages of a dwindling middle class.  Add, rising taxes and either those in the middle class become poor or leave the state. California has 12 percent of the nation’s population.  But, one-third of the homeless and one-third of those on welfare. Again, a modern version of the old confederacy, complete with rebellious state governments.

That is a good story.  It's unfortunate that trump's tariffs are hurting those same people.

So, better short term gain to see the US become secondary to a nation that has millions in their laogai concentration camps.  One assumes you've read of China 2025 and 2035.

If you were around in 1940, you'd be advocating selling the Japanese scrap steel.  After all, they're only killing Chinese, what could it hurt?

How is it that an accountant doesn't understand who pays for a tariff?

What's the short term or long term gain in making the average American pay more for a product? Tax revenue? So Republicans can cut the taxes for the top 1% , again?

If, I had a time machine....

I haven't. Thanks for a link by the way.

If tariffs are the only answer, we're doomed.

Some progressive suggest the WTO.  We've between 400 to 500 briefs with the WTO. When we win, the Chinese ignore the decision.  What else you got besides tariffs, besides war?

China is also too divided, difference is they aren't going to said
anything against their government.

America is free to a fault and changes should be made but not to
the point it would adversely change us the way China lives.

If it were up to me, antifa would be healing broken bones and
other injuries in prison. There's other areas that need looking into also.
