Well, it appears the Notorious RBG doesn’t think too highly about AOC’s dream of nixing the Electoral College.

In a speech at the University of Chicago on Monday, Supreme Court justice and liberal hero Ruth Bader Ginsburg derided efforts to ax the Electoral College and elect presidents strictly by popular vote alone, saying that such efforts were “more theoretical than real.”

Recent calls to replace the Electoral College with the popular vote have been part of liberal dogma since, oh, about 11 p.m. on Nov. 8, 2016, when it became clear Hillary Clinton was going to get more votes than Donald Trump but could still lose the election.

Never mind that winning the popular vote was never the point. And never mind that the Democratic National Committee, in concert with the Clinton campaign, had wasted campaign resources on getting out the vote in states where the outcome was already certain because, according to a Politico report from December 2016, then-DNC chairwoman Donna Brazile had feared Hillary would end up losing the popular vote while winning the electoral vote.

In the liberal narrative, Trump had gotten fewer popular votes than Clinton, therefore his election was illegitimate.

The issue has gained renewed traction, given that we’re approaching another election and one of the highest-profile Democrats in Congress, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York, recently made news by stating the Electoral College “is, in fact, a scam.”

“The Electoral College has a racial injustice breakdown,” Ocasio-Cortez said in an Instagram story posted last month.

“Due to severe racial disparities in certain states, the Electoral College effectively weighs white voters over voters of color, as opposed to a ‘one person, one vote’ system where all our votes are counted equally.”

Of course. In her speech Monday, Ginsburg didn’t address those “severe racial disparities in certain states,” but noted that there wasn’t much of a chance that the Electoral College would be replaced.

“It’s largely a dream because our Constitution is … hard to amend,” Ginsburg told the audience, according to the Washington Examiner.

“I know that from experience.”

Not only could that be seen as a rebuke of Ocasio-Cortez’s call to abolish the Electoral College, it could also be seen as a word of warning to those behind the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact, a legislative agreement in which states would give their electoral votes to the popular vote winner no matter who won the state.

The Electoral College, as composed today, is an un-democratic institution.  Since, per the Constitution, it is based on the number of Representatives and Senators of each State, the District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico.  However, the number of Representatives is not equally proportionate to the population of each State.  Take for instance, Wyoming:  with a population of approximately 578,000, it has 1 Representative and 2 Senators which equals out to 3 Electoral College votes, a ration of approximately 200,000 to 1 (people to electoral votes.)  California, on the opposite extreme, with a population of approximately 39,600,000, has 55 Representatives and 2 Senators, equaling 57 Electoral College votes.  California’s people to electoral vote ratio is about 720,000 to 1.  That is nowhere near equally proportioned.  In order for it to be equally proportioned, California would need 198 Electoral College votes (a ratio of 200,000 to 1.)

To look at it another way, in California, using the 200,000 to 1 ratio, only 11 million people are represented in the House and 28 million are not.  Another way to look at it, a citizen of Wyoming has 68 times more political power than a citizen of California does.  Hardly equal.

Why this vast inequality?  Because the Permanent Apportionment Act of 1929 fixed the total number of seats in the House of Representatives to 435.  This means citizens of the United States will be unequally represented in the House and the Electoral College.  To Make every citizen equally represented, the States would need the following equally proportioned representation:

cry me a river,,,, the cheat hellary  lost

Isn't it, what they call, "Just Deserts" given the grief that she, the Democrats, and the Media, gave Donald Trump for not agreeing to, beforehand, to accept the results of the upcoming election.  They gave him heck over it and heckled him and made fun of him, ridiculed him, only to exemplify, in exponential form, the example of someone who fails to accept an outcome.  This is surely a do as I say not as I do moment in politics.

Essentially though, I believe, all that has descended from the Election Day results has been a culmination of such unprecedented, immeasurable, seething hatred of Donald Trump or anything connected with Donald Trump.  I don't know if it stems from the fact that he defeated their golden child (appointed) candidate or the fact that he switched parties and his allegiances from Democratic to Republican leaning beliefs and policies.  Either way it is pure, unadulterated, hatred on behalf of those against Trump that seethes out of every pore and orifice of those who cannot accept Trump's victory.  God truly help them if somehow Donald Trump upsets the 2020 Democratic candidate, whomever that shall be.  One thing for certain and that is there will be a ceaseless onslaught of attacks and negative news surrounding Donald Trump up and until the 2020 Election in an attempt to unseat him from office.

Actually given the intense hatred for anything Trump and the large number of retiring Republicans it is feasible that the Democrats could have an outstanding 2020 Election Day and if that does happen then just as the Stock Markets exploded in favorable territory after Trump's election look for an unprecedented and disastrous drop and fall never seen since the Great Depression.  Trump should have no problem skating to a re-election provided that the economy continues on it's current track and continues to improve, especially if he is able to secure the economic agreements with China that he seeks.

People, it seems, today vote based upon party preference or whom they dislike rather than whom they like or the policies of those that are running and it's very possible that given the electorate and the numbers that Hillary got that Trump could be defeated in 2020 but there's just as likely a chance he will be re-elected by people who sense that the economy is favorable for them and doing well.

For a great number of years congress has been inclined to vote for their
own necks. AO is no different, they all ignore the Constitution especially

when it comes to working toward a greater America.

The congressional left has an ongoing war against the Country in lieu of
a socialist government which carries a 100% outcome of destined to fail.
The majority of their hate can come from only reason, diversity.

When diversity has been manipulated as idiotically in the last sixty years,
it's no wonder every person for theirselves is in order.
