Absolutely. The law should be changed so that if you marry a US citizen you can apply for citizenship just like everyone else does. The other law that should be changed is that if you're not a US citizen and your child is born here that child will not automatically be a US citizen.

I can give you around 15 million reasons why we should stop. What has/is happening now is unprecedented. You and lawguy are looking foolish in your examples.

No, foolish is targeting one group when many groups use the same law to their advantage. If you want to stop one, you must stop all.

No need to disappear just because I caught you being a hypocrite.

Well, I do have a life outside of the Timesdaily forum and don't necessarily anxiously await each reply. And maybe you have me mixed up with somebody else, but I don't seem to remember being caught doing anything but expressing my opinion that many of the people on here are racist. I can think of better places to spend my time.
I'd like to ask a question...if you were in Mexico, and your family was starving...you knew the chances you are taking in going across the border....what would you do? Myself, I would do my best to get across the border as soon as possible and bypass immigration laws because they take too long....

Uhh...what chances? Thats the problem, our govt. wants them here. Our constitution forbids illegal immigration but our govt. won't enforce the laws and won't allow the states to enforce them.

Arizona has passed their own laws and has Obama in an uproar.

I am not saying change it for just Mexicans it should be the law for everyone. In the past it was not abused to the extent it is currently being abused nor could you get welfare payments etc. to the extent you can now. Why should the taxpayers carry the burden for Mexico or any other country? Part of the reason we have immigration laws are to prevent the U.S. from being overwhelmed by a poverty class from another country and over 15 million is a invasion.
