$90 in fuel for 10 hour trip? Sounds cheap to me

Yeah, that's what I was thinking. I drive a Ford Expedition. It takes right at $100 to fill it up. Driving from Indiana to Florence would be about a tank and a half giving you the $150 for the trip.

When gas was just under $3 per gal, we went to Tampa, about a 11 1/2 hour trip. (We do stop and stretch lol) Back then we spent $120 for fuel in a car that gets 35 mpg. The $120 was round trip. The way i read the article it was from IN to here, so $90 one way?

$90.00 of fuel for a 10 hour trip? I wish! It's more like $150-$200. Especially driving a suburban..somebody has the figures wrong.

This must have been one of them new fangled hybrids that ran on battery 1/4 of the way. That's an extremely cheap trip gaswise these days. $90.00 is probably not even a full tank last week in a Suburban. Once again the TimesDaily proves itself a low quality newspaper. Why would the person be complaining with this great deal on gas for the trip?

I'm glad somebody else thought 90 bucks was cheap for a 10 hour drive. I drove to Panama City in May and spent well over 100 for the one-way 7 hour drive in my Jeep that I know gets better gas mileage than a Suburban.

I think they started with a full tank and the $90 was fill ups during the 10 hour trip.

ok..here's the math. 576 miles one way. lets assume the gas tank is 32.5 gallons, i know the 2005's are. interstate the whole way they would only have to get 17.7 miles per gallon to make here on one tank. so lets say at 3.80 a gallon that would be $123.50. so yea i think there are some numbers wrong, or maybe they did have gas already and filled up on the way. but in order to get here on $90 with the current prices they would have to get roughly 24 mpg, so who knows maybe they did? only they know for sure i guess
