It's said that pilots using autopilot are at risk of losing some of their fine tuned flying skills.  With the new advent of cars that almost, and in some cases, drive themselves not to mention freight trucks that do the same, it's a very logical progression that drivers might just do the same thing and lose driving skills that are fine tuned over years of driving.  I've seen a few Tesla drivers reading the news paper and doing other things as their cars drive down the interstate in heavy traffic, in Nashville, and also along side streets and while some people may look and actually desire such self driving cars I think it could be a harbinger of things to come and not a good thing.

Driving skills are acquired over years of experience and like many other things can be lost or dulled with inattention and lack of use.  Maybe it's just worry over nothing and this new technology will make traveling and driving far more safe than ever before.  Maybe driving will become a thing of the past and the future will become a totally automated thing where driving is something hardly anyone will think of.  Guess like many things time will tell and make those decisions for us.

Be as the Bereans ( Acts 17:11 )
