Hi to all my Forum Friends,

While some folks get upset that I call everyone on the Religion Forum my Friends, saying such nice things as, "I am not your Friend!  I don't like you!"  -- yet, I know that others still tolerate me as a Friend.  So, to those who still accept my Friendship, I say, "God bless you!"

To those others, I offer this dedication:

And, just a reminder -- this IS offered in good humor and friendship -- even to those who will not accept it as such.

God bless, have a wonderful, blessed day,

Bill

Wrong Bill. It means what can you do for each other. How can you help each other. The only 'me' in this equation is your view of it. You would pray for someone, but then you would tell everyone you saw, you prayed for that person. The 'me' in your friendship.

There are several people on this forum I have never met, yet I consider them friends. Semi, B, and others. To me, even if I live far away from a friend so they can't "help me move", they are still a friend because they are wishing me well. If someone prays for me, I consider them a friend. I know Bill prays for me, and I pray for him, so even though we don't always get along, I DO consider him a friend.

I mean, think about it - we ALL have at least one friend who "gets on our nerves", but because we know they have a good heart, we make allowances for them. Bill gets on my nerves, and I know I get on his, but we still wish each other well. And when you get right down to it, even though most of us object to the WAY Bill says things sometimes, I know that if we are HONEST with ourselves, we will have to admit, he wishes ALL of us well.

So, Bill, in your eyes a person can only have one kind of friend, not both? Very sad to be that kind of friend.

I could easily give my last dollar to a friend. If a friend needed prayer, they already know how I feel about that. The prayer request would go to another friend, not this one, but they love me anyway, shortcomings & all.

Hi Chick,

A person may have many acquaintances; but few real Friends.  True, many of the people I know on the Religion Forum will fall more into the acquaintance category.  However, since we are sharing and discussing an issue which is very important to everyone -- I consider these folks my Friends.  Many are spiritual Friends; many others I would like to make spiritual Friends.

I do not come to the Religion Forum asking, "What can YOU do for ME?"  Instead, I come asking, "What can I do for YOU?  May I tell you about my Lord and Savior?  May I tell you how you can also have peace with God through Jesus Christ?   May I help you begin your walk toward eternal life in Christ?"

This is very important to me; for I would love to share heaven with every single reader and member of the Forums.  And, because this is so important to me -- I call all of you my Friends.  You may hate me; but, I have a Godly love for you.  And, who knows, one day you may have the same for me.   But, first, I want you to love my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Chick, you tell me, "I could easily give my last dollar to a friend."    Although I could use every available dollar -- I do not want your dollars.  However, I would cherish your, or anyone's, prayers.  Those mean so much more than material wealth -- dollars or otherwise.

Yet, I can appreciate why you would phrase friendship that way; for that is the value set of the secular world, i.e., what is in it for me -- materially?  Chick, if you ever want to pray for me; I will treasure that -- highly.

God bless, have a wonderful, blessed day,

Bill

Bill, in all your years here, have you honestly ever had one person on this forum contact you for you to tell them about, tell them how, help them begin their walk? I’m not asking to be rude, I would truly like to know.

There’s nothing, Sir, that you can do for me, but thank you for asking. As for myself, I already know the answers to those questions.  Most people that have the kind of questions you mention, will find someone they have faith in as a Christian, someone they trust, someone they feel comfortable with, someone they feel comfortable confiding in.

I don’t think you’re it!

I’ve never seen you discuss anything with anyone on this forum. The majority of the time you are telling us how it is & if we don’t do what you say, then we are going to hell. Thankfully, you are not our judge, even though you would like to be.

Because I said I could easily give my last dollar to a friend, you think my friends are all about monetary value & what’s in it for me…materially????

With every post you make, I find myself feeling more & more sorry for you.

BTW, I have many real friends but few acquaintances.
