arrived today...telling me I would be getting a Census Survey soon...and it was important to fill it out?... Duh!
Couldn't that have been included in the Survey?
One mailing?
How much did that cost the taxpayers?

yup, got mine a couple of days ago - just a letter saying I was going to get a form. I guess this costs about 200 million or so.

I got one a couple of days ago. Is anyone filling out the form when it comes? I've heard some say theirs will go in the garbage.
I got a letter a few days ago informing me I would be contacted by a census worker. I have already decided to anwere only 2 questions....My name, my age, and after that..."get off my porch"
The census is annoying but very important.everybody needs to fill them out to help get federal funding that we need.Being rude to someone doing their job does not impress anyone it just makes you look ignorant.
Without the census the looters would have a harder time dividing up the spoils.

The census is required by the US Constitution. However, the only requirement is to count the number of people. Race, number of bathrooms or any other info is none of the governments business.

Seems that some of the questions would be no one's business.

got the letter telling me I'd get the form. Got the form, already sent it back. Today I got a postcard telling me I got my form.
Had a guy on another message board chew me out for sending it back so quickly. He said that the count is 'as of April 1' and what if someone in my house dies between now and April 1. I said if I croak, the count will be off one. He responded with how many people will die between now and April 1. If everyone did like me and sent it back before April 1, the count would be off by thousands.
This is when I quietly bowed out of the conversation. Later a friend suggested that maybe the birth rate between now and April 1 would even it out.
