Our able President's speech to the Cuban people this morning will go down as one of the great speeches of our time.  It hit on all the right points.  It firmly advanced the ideals of democracy without affronting current Cuban leadership. He was frequently interrupted with heavy applause. Raoul Castro stood up and applauded at the conclusion.  This history-making speech will catalyze further progress in political and economic relationships between Cuba and the U.S.  Truly a masterpiece, as history will prove!

Even as Obama arrived, Cuban security forces rounded up more dissidents, including the Ladies In White.  Beatings were duly inflicted as they were thrown into one of the 300 prisons.  Before the revolution, there were 60.  Resuming trade, OK.  But, why a state visit to the most racist nation in the western hemisphere?

___

And why a Nixon visit to the most murderous nation in the entire world? Ya gotta start somewhere, dire, and it is up to the powers that be, not you, to define that "somewhere."

When you posted THAT, were you drunk, stoned, or just sloppy?

Sloppy and I edited it 5 seconds after I posted.

When you commented about a prize bar, what were you?

See how far you had to go back in history for THAT!?  LOLOLOL!

At first I thought this was just a spoof post such as a troll might post to incite some.  I actually  believe you believe this as incredible as that might be, and I couldn't disagree more.  This man is seriously the most America (as it was created and established) hating official ever elected and sadly, for us, President.

The man cannot blame America for the problems of the world enough.  He speaks as if our entire history, prior to him, was a total mistake.  The man is no more than an embarrassment.

As a smoker might contract cancer so our nation contracted Obama and both cancer and Obama are equally destructive.  The man makes Jimmy Carter look great and makes Bush look to be a frugal President.

I must have been the only one who actually watched the speech.  Don't seen any indication the master debater did.  Anyone claiming  they did would have heard thunderous applause only a couple of times like when Obama mentioned US concessions such as lifting the embargo.

He was quick to point out, however, that it would be congress' fault if it wasn't.  Yessir, under the guns of the Cuban military, those Cubans really know how to show US appreciation.

When it came to disagreements between the US and Cuba over human rights, there was only a smattering of polite applause. State approved, no doubt.

When it came to US investments in Cuba, again a round of applause.  Don't forget the Cuba government takes 51% of foreign owned businesses while the businesses take 100% of the risk.  We used to have on this forum a couple of liberals businesspersons.  I'd like to ask them if that the kind of deal they would accept.

Obama mentioned peaceful protest?  A couple of polite claps, not arising to the level of a protest.

Most confusing of all [clap, not clap] was when Obama went through the ethnicity of the candidates running to replace what he called his legacy.  2 Cubans, a woman, and a Democrat Socialist.  His point was diversity.  But the outcome was absurdity.  The two Cubans familys fled Cuba.  Did not fight in the Revolucion .  Maybe supported overthrowing Castro a time or two.  The Democrats Socialist so like them as a zero chance of winning his party's nomination.  And the woman, well, history tells us her husband was fond of cigars so a round of hand slapping for ending the cigar embargo. \

But when came to Gitmo, I didn't hear any applause.  Did I miss it?  Did he mention it?

Do we want the POTUS to be received in the manner of the leader of other Communist/Socialist countries?  Apparently the OP did and thought he did.

A Magnificent Defining Speech!

But do we want Obama or any POTUS to be received in the manner such as Putin?  I didn't.  Not in the least.  But Contendahh is all giddy about it.

As well as the Carter, Clinton, and Obama democrats.  But what about the JFK democrats?

What's become of them?

They've been betrayed.

Along with every old time African American civil rights advocate who has seen his legacy trampled on by the likes of Sharpton.  His neighborhood invaded by thugs.  And his dreams of escaping the democrat plantation getting dimmer and dimmer each day.

Anyway, Cuba, what do you want the most?  Want an end to the embargo?  Want US investments?  Trump or Hillary.  Forget the rhetoric.  Who gives you the best chance.

Just like African-Americans held the Democratic Plantation since the Carters.  Want to continue Sharptons legacy?  Thugs in your neighborhoods?  No jobs?  What did Obama do?  Think Clinton can do better.  What has she done.

I believe Trump can do better for you.  And you deserve better.  What African Americans did either Clinton or Obama put on their cabinet that even slightly approached the  professionalism and ethics the ones GW Bush appointed.

But Dubya ain't gonna no rousing cheer in Havanna.  Nor Colin, nor Condalezza.

Sad situation when some of us believe a POTUS receiving a warm reception in a Communist country is a good thing.  Lets us know just how low we've sunk.

And how seeming self-professed intelligent individuals can be so very easily be mislead by words abstractly strung from a thesaurus.

What is truly sad is when a nitpicking, carping critic of the President digs so deeply to unearth so little of any merit in critiquing what was, I repeat, a magnificent defining speech.  History will so define it.  BTW, I never referred to "thunderous applause," as any fair-minded reader of my post would have noted. "Heavy" and "thunderous" are not the same.  And, yes, the President received heavy applause several times.  Get your hearing checked, budsfarm.  And as to Cruz's father and his checkered past, readers are referred to this detailed  article:
