I'm asking all of you as Human Beings that when you read this or have a

moment. That you either have a moment of silence or say a prayer to who

ever your maker is. For those families that have lost so much including

some that have lost loved ones. Please ask for thier recovery and well-being.

And please those who can or will offer your help to those in need. I pray

that all of us will donate and help however we can. Thank You.

I'm sorry, skippy.  I really am.  But no BS explanation of "free will" explains horribly destructive tornadoes.

As a human being, I grieve for the dead and wounded, and I sympathize with the homeless, jobless, and otherwise hopeless.  I really do.  I applaud the people who are gathering essentials, who are driving to wrecked areas with chainsaws and bottled water.

But no argument of "free will" explains why god would allow such carnage.

Human solidarity will overcome this tragedy, nothing more, nothing less.  It is not to be underestimated, we're good people.  If God has a hand in the issue, he's to blame.  Sorry to bring this up at such a sensitive time, but there is no getting around the BS that God is willing to help the victims of a storm only he could make.

NSNS, please don't crow about the "morality" of atheists anymore. This post of yours is so out of line on this thread, it only shows that your obsession has outstripped your sensitivity, your kindness, and your good sense.

Skippy, I have been praying several times a day for those poor people. Thanks for posting this.

ONo, sorry to be blunt at such a time, but two hands working make more of a difference than 1000 hands clasped in prayer.

I grieve for the dead, injured, homeless, jobless, and otherwise damaged from the tornadoes.  I grieve for the displaced and dead animals, even.

But no amount of Original Sin, or Free Will, or any other sort of religious rationalization can excuse a god who, if he exists, must accept total responsibility for what happened Wednesday.

Let the recent tragedy be a reminder of what Epicurus had to say about god; If he can prevent evil and does not, he is not good.  If he cannot prevent evil, he is not omnipotent.

What will it take to demonstrate to you that there is no god who looks after his faithful?

You just don't get it do you? Your post is in extremely POOR TASTE. You have already said the same things over and over again in different things, for YEARS now. Why do you feel that it's necessary to post the same old crap here in this post? Couldn't you have put your obsession aside for just one thread and shown some humanity and sensitivity to these folks by posting something like, say, "They are in my thoughts and I will help in any way I can."

You are hopeless and self-absorbed, and if this forum had an ignore feature, you would be on my list.

Sorry, ONo, but what is in poor taste is thanking the god who would be in the sole position to generate this calamity.

What wretched servitude and depravity must it take to do that?

I expressed my grief for the injured, and I meant it.

I don't blame god for the weather.  He's not there, you see.  If he is, he doesn't give a s#!+.  In either case, worshiping him is inappropriate, and thanking him is perverse.

Chick,

God did not cause this. Cold air from the arctic flowing from the north then crossing the

country until it hits the warm moist air from the gulf. They combine for ideal toronado

conditions. God created this natural world for us to experiance the very bad with the good.

He loves us all but as he didn't interfere with the Cruxifiction of His Son. He also will usually

let the earth take it's natural course. With-in this series of storms there were many Miracals.

He loves us and it sorrows him I'm sure, but none of us know the time that we again will

leave this earthly home of ours.

Skippy

Semi, I have stated several times that I believe God created the universe and the laws of science that dictate how it runs. So I don't think anyONE caused this. I believe as Skippy does on this one. It was warm air meeting cold air and just the right conditions in the atmosphere to create these storms.

As you know, I believe that this life on earth is just a short precursor to the eternal life we will have in Heaven. Although what happens to some of us seems harsh, it is no worse than a baby getting his first shots, in the grand scheme of things. No matter how much suffering anyone undergoes in THIS life, it is a mere nothing compared to the unimaginable joy that is in store for us later, and for eternity.
