Bachmann Calls For Health Care Protest Rally In DC Next Week: ‘We’re Going To Have A Big Party’
In an interview with the Washington News Observer, Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-MN) revealed that, next week in Washington, D.C., the right wing is trying to galvanize yet another mass protest rally against health reform.

Following in the spirit of the “tea party” protests in April and the Glenn Beck-inspired 9/12 rally, Bachmann announced, “We’re going to have a ‘house call’ and a big party out on the National Mall [next week], and we’re going to tell Congress what they can do with their health care bill.”

Fashioning herself as the leader of this mass protest, Bachmann exhorted everyone to “get off the couch, get in your car, get a van together, get a bus together, but get here! We’re going to have a ‘house call’ next week, and we need every American to be here.” She then issued this dire warning (infused with pop culture references):

The American people realize this is it. Just like that brand new Michael Jackson movie came out, ‘This Is It.’ This is it for freedom. If you believe in liberty, and if you’re rejecting tyranny, this is it. Dr. Mark Levin wrote a seminal book that really swept this country called Liberty and Tyranny. And that’s what this debate is about next week. Liberty and tyranny.

And this one...

Boehner Won’t Pledge To Offer GOP Health Care Plan, Refuses To Post It Online If He Does

Republicans have been insisting for months that Democrats are shoving a secret bill down the throats of the American public. The health reform legislation “should be posted online for 72 hours so members and the American people get a chance to see what’s in these bills,” House Minority Leader John Boehner (R-OH) told Fox News. “But it seems to me that Democrat leaders want to rush these bills through Congress before anybody has a chance to read them.”

In fact, House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (D-MD) “has repeatedly pledged to Republicans that the health bill and any manager’s amendment would be posted online for at least 72 hours before the House votes,” and he promised again this week.

At a press conference this morning, a reporter turned the tables on Boehner and asked whether he’d post the GOP plan for 72 hours. Boehner declined to make such a pledge:

QUESTION: Will the Republicans put their alternative online for 72 hours as well?

BOEHNER: Uh, we’ll uh, we’ll have our ideas ready. Don’t worry.

Why won’t Bohner post the GOP plan? Because he doesn’t have one. Later in the press conference, this minor detail was revealed when a reporter pressed Boehner for a GOP alternative plan:

QUESTION: Is it your plan to have one Republican alternative that you all would get behind and endorse?

BOHNER: We have a number of ideas that we would like to proffer in this process, and we’re not quite sure how the majority intends to proceed. And so until we understand how they intend to proceed, it’s pretty difficult for us to have a solid plan.

Anything sounds better than the left wing nightmare we have now.

From Pelosi's Health Care Bill

Page 94, "Prohibits the sale of private individual health insurance policies, beginning in 2013, forcing individuals to purchase coverage through the federal government." In 2013, after the 2012 presidential election. In 2013, there is no private insurance allowed. The sale of it will be prohibited.

Page 110: "Requires the use of federal dollars to fund abortions through the government-run health plan -- and, if the Hyde Amendment were ever not renewed, would require the plan to fund elective abortions."

Page 111 -- Section 223: "Establishes a new board of federal bureaucrats (the 'Health Benefits Advisory Committee') to dictate the health plans that all individuals must purchase -- and would likely require all Americans to subsidize and purchase plans that cover any abortion."

Page 211 -- Section 321: "Establishes a new government-run health plan that, according to non-partisan actuaries at the Lewin Group, would cause as many as 114 million Americans to lose their existing coverage."

Page 225 -- Section 330: "Permits -- but does not require -- Members of Congress to enroll in government-run health care." So they'll be able to opt out of it and maintain their Cadillac plans.

Page 255 -- Section 345: "Includes language requiring verification of income for individuals wishing to receive federal health care subsidies under the bill -- while the bill includes a requirement for applicants to verify their citizenship, it does not include a similar requirement to verify applicants' identity, thus encouraging identity fraud for undocumented immigrants and others wishing to receive taxpayer-subsidized health benefits."

Page 297 -- Section 501: "Imposes a 2.5 percent tax on all individuals who do not purchase 'bureaucrat-approved' health insurance -- the tax would apply on individuals with incomes under $250,000, thus breaking a central promise of then-Senator Obama’s presidential campaign."

Page 313 -- Section 512: "Imposes an 8 percent 'tax on jobs' for firms that cannot afford to purchase 'bureaucrat-approved' health coverage; according to an analysis by Harvard Professor Kate Baicker, such a tax would place millions 'at substantial risk of unemployment' -- with minority workers losing their jobs at twice the rate of their white counterparts."

Page 336 -- Section 551: "Imposes additional job-killing taxes, in the form of a half-trillion dollar 'surcharge,' more than half of which will hit small businesses; according to a model developed by President Obama’s senior economic advisor, such taxes could cost up to 5.5 million jobs.

Page 520 -- Section 1161: "Cuts more than $150 billion from Medicare Advantage plans."

Page 733 -- Section 1401: "Establishes a new Center for Comparative Effectiveness Research; the bill includes no provisions preventing the government-run health plan from using such research to deny access to life-saving treatments on cost grounds, similar to Britain’s National Health Service, which denies patient treatments costing more than $35,000."

Page 1174 -- Section 1802(b): "Includes provisions entitled 'TAXES ON CERTAIN INSURANCE POLICIES' to fund comparative effectiveness research, breaking Speaker Pelosi’s promise that 'We will not be taxing [health] benefits in any bill that passes the House.'"
Are you asserting that you have posted language from the actual bill?
If not then what is it that you have posted?
Are you repeating lies or are you simply lying on your own?
Are you too dumb or illiterate to read the bill for yourself? Do you need me or someone else who has actually read the bill and knows it's factual content to post these facts for you?

No lies in my post. And I don’t believe for a moment that you’ve read the bill or can read at all. You should stop believing all the BS your side is dishing out. Why don’t you stop depending on the government for all your needs?

You remember JFK don’t you. Ask what you can do for your country, not what your country can do for you. You really will enjoy life better. Try it for once.

Actually there are only 1018 pages that I know of in the healthcare bill but since each page is relatively short and writen like a legal document (which is what it is), the entire document consists of only around 184,700 word characters (that's only if you include all section and line numbers and punctuation marks such as apostrophes, asterisks, periods, dashes, colons, quotation marks and etc).
Several books you may (or may not) be familiar with such as Stephen King's "The Stand" contains over 500,000 words and characters in a bit over 1100 pages.
An average non-fiction book contains around 200,000 words & characters.
Herman Melville's "Moby Dick" contains over 21,000 words which is another good read as is Homer's "Odyssey" and "Iliad".
I have many classic books in my own personal "library" including many books by not-so-well known authors and I tend to favor 18th and early 19th century litterature.
I recently aqquired two old leather bound books; "The Republic of Plato" published in 1901 and "U.S.A." published around 1939 which contains three stories by John Dos Passos; "The 42nd Parrallel", "Nineteen Nineteen" and "The Big Money", both in near mint condition.
My point is simple; pictures and illustrations are not absolutely necessary for full comprehension and appreciation of content and a discriptive anylisis by some biased critic is completely un-reliable. To know exactly what and how anything is written (and to avoid looking like a complete idiot when discussing the subject) you must read it for yourself.
Then why doesn’t your side take a break so congress, obama, and the public can read it? Why is your side trying to push it down our throats as fast as they can? We both know the answer to both questions. The dems doesn’t want us to read it because it would be rejected by the majority of the American people. You haven’t denied the sections of the bill I posted.

BTW, I couldn’t care less if you read classic books.

I don't need to deny language that doesn't exist. If the Democrats who wrote it didn't want you to read it they wouldn't have placed it here... http://docs.house.gov/edlabor/...-BillText-071409.pdf
Besides, they're not all that concerned about "pushing it down your throats as fast as they can". It's the majority of Americans that want it done as fast as possible they're concerned about.
BTW/WTF, I have no doubt that you couldn't care less regarding my fondness for classic literature. It's my superior quest for knowledge, comprehensive ability and intellect that you resent. That is your choice. So be it.

One other thing; where is the right-wing alternative to the healthcare bill that boner was talking about?
In regard to reading classic literature, you could begin with "See Spot Run".

B&W, they're the ones that don't care whether people in this country have healthcare. Just like everything else, they don't want people to have "rights" for anything. Whether people, old or young, live or die is of no consequence to them. Afterall, they did shove two wars in our faces and down our throats.
