President Donald Trump said Saturday that he is considering declaring the far-left Antifa activist group a terrorist organization, equating it with the MS-13 street gang amid reports of members physically attacking conservative demonstrators and journalists at rallies across the country.

"Consideration is being given to declaring ANTIFA, the gutless Radical Left Wack Jobs who go around hitting (only non-fighters) people over the heads with baseball bats, a major Organization of Terror (along with MS-13 & others). Would make it easier for police to do their job!" Trump tweeted.

Trump's tweet came days after Sens. Bill Cassidy, R-La.,and Ted Cruz, R-Texas, introduced non-binding legislation that would designate the group as a domestic terrorist organization.

“Antifa are terrorists, violent masked bullies who ‘fight fascism’ with actual fascism, protected by Liberal privilege,” Cassidy said in a statement. “Bullies get their way until someone says no. Elected officials must have courage, not cowardice, to prevent terror.”

At a Senate hearing last week, Cruz asked FBI Director Christopher Wray if he could investigate Antifa under the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) Act. Wray responded that the bureau recognizes Antifa as more of an ideology than an organization.

PORTLAND MAYOR SHOULD BE INVESTIGATED BY FEDS OVER ANTIFA ATTACK ON CONSERVATIVE WRITER, SEN. CRUZ SAYS

He added the FBI takes seriously any violence on committed on behalf of ideology.

"We have a quite a number though, I should tell you, of properly predicated investigations of what we categorize as anarchist extremists," Wray told Cruz. "People who are trying to commit violent criminal activity that violates federal criminal law and some of those people do subscribe as what we would refer to as a kind of an antifa-like ideology,"

Antifa members have drawn criticism for their confrontational style and acts of violence against demonstrators with opposing viewpoints in otherwise non-violent rallies. The group clashed with white supremacists in Charlottesville, Va., in 2017 and have gone on the offensive against far-right protesters in various cities.

Some mask-wearing members have been accused of throwing eggs, bottles and other items at people and beating and threatening counter-protesters and members of the media.

Trump has labeled them the "alt-left" and accused the group of attacking people who won't or can't fight back.

“Do you ever notice they [Antifa] pick on certain people?” Trump asked while speaking at a White House event for conservative social media personalities earlier this month where he recalled a violent attack on journalist Andy Ngo at a Portland, Ore., rally. “I mean, he [Mr. Ngo] would tell you he’s not the toughest person in the world physically, right?”

A 69-year-old man killed during his attack on a local Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) facility last week claimed to be an Antifa member.

"I am Antifa," he wrote in a manifesto the day before the attack.

Right wing extremist are the bigger threat

https://www.newsweek.com/trump...ts-have-been-1451444

Right-wing extremists were responsible for 73.3 percent of the more than 425 deaths in the U.S. attributable to violent extremism between 2009 and 2018, according to an ADL report released earlier this year. While left-wing extremists were to blame for 3.2 percent.

Of those deaths attributable to right-wing extremist attacks — 313 in total, during that 10-year period — the ADL found that white supremacists were responsible for the vast majority (76 percent), followed by anti-government extremists with 19 percent.

White supremacists aren't your daily conservatives. Are your Black

Anthea is white and black.

Newsweek is very left wing, very newsweak. We know better

Then it should be easy for you to denounce white supremacists and white nationalists. The new black panthers don't have any pull. They're just trading off the name.  They are not the same. But I wouldn't expect you to do any research on that.

white supremacist don't have any pull.   Still unclear what a white nationalist is?  a white person that loves their country?  or just anyone that disagrees with democrats and happens to be white?

Black panthers went under when Obama left office,,, and yep he didn't denounce them.

we have denounce white supremacist, however what have they done violent in the last 20 years? besides a couple of lone wolf incidents.  Where as Antifa has done a lot of violence.

Maybe this will help:

"White nationalism is a term that originated among white supremacists as a euphemism for white supremacy. Eventually, some white supremacists tried to distinguish it further by using it to refer to a form of white supremacy that emphasizes defining a country or region by white racial identity and which seeks to promote the interests of whites exclusively, typically at the expense of people of other backgrounds."

sorry Old Salt, I am not buying it,,,, it is a term made up by media or democrat to spread more hate.  As racism and other terms, just another way to call names when someone disagrees with democrats... Sad that democrats and media have to stoop to that.

Black pride-Wonderful...terrific...an entire month of celebrating famous blacks...and year round talking about it and how BLM etc. Black privilege...even though there is plenty we need lots more of it. Praise half-time shows that are a salute to the Black Panthers and killing cops. Take a knee in protest of a country that allowed you to become a millionaire just because you can play football. Call every person that is mixed black...even if they are as white as they are black. Chant "what do we want? Dead cops. When do we want them? Now". Throw water on cops in disrespect. Toss them out of restaurants or refuse to serve them. Ambush and murder them.

White pride-Only racists would dare mention being proud to be white or praise famous white people! White privilege? Even though it doesn't exist talk about it endlessly. Get bent out of shape if anyone dares suggest all lives matter and that cops deserve respect. Have a melt down if a white person so much as looks at you funny. Don't mention racist half-time shows that are salutes to the Black Panthers and killing cops. Listen and cater to people that are disrespectful to the country that made it possible for them to become millionaires because they are black...even the ones that are half-white. Be sure to find racism in every word spoken to you by a white person...and tear up restaurants and attack workers if you feel like it.

What I've always thought about the sudden rebirth of the black race,
(black isn't the name of a race, it's a color) by way of black is beautiful
to whatever today's stretch may be at the time.

Then it was necessary to scandalize all other races hoping to fill some
gaps left by the fallen. Of course it doesn't work in any way you might
pray for, it just doesn't work.

You can't make people believe what is proven true otherwise.
