I find it hilarious that AU's class is going to be as good or better than Bama's (both will be top 5 most likely), even though Bama is coming off its 8th MNC and Saban was caught cheating twice (visiting recruits prior to July 1st which is illegal).

Scout.com has Bama at #4 and AU at #5 (as of 9:45 AM). Pretty good for the Chiz (who was supposed to be Nicky's B*tch).
Look folks Alabama has to much returning next year. These recruits most have NEVER played a down of SEC football. Cam Newton is an exception. Extra security was hired at Auburn to watch the lap tops. BUT IF CAM does get out of line I assure you one thing. Chezik will have his a-- out so fast his head will spin.

I agree. I've racked my brain the last couple of months thinking about what Bama needs and whats in the cupboard. I seen help in the defense for defensive backs and some defensive lineman but not much else. Pretty much a class of re-stocking.

Congrats to Auburn they had a good class.

Whatever team you prefer show class toward your school.

ESPN has Bama's class ahead if Moo U's. But you had a great class. Congrats.

But it was Moo U who got caught cheating and had a coach (Trooper Taylor) who could not contact recruits for a month during the season.)

Do a little research -- it is traditionally the following year that recruiting upswings due to a NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP. But then again, how much can you improve on #1, #1, #5 classes in three consecutive years?
Hearing Nicky's speech yesterday was hilarious. He was complaining that other schools used "negative tactics" against the poor Tide (as if the mullets are not the worst school in history for underhanded tactics, $100 handshakes, money laundering boosters AND coaches, Escalade driving wide-receivers, etc.) I would wager Saban and company are the dirtiest recruiters in the country (with the one exception of Lane Kiffen and his cohorts who told UT recruits to go to USC BEFORE Kiffen announced his resignation).

Nicky then went on to say that when a HS player commits to the Tide, their commitment "should mean something" (he was referring to losing Keenan Allen to Cal). But he forgets that he was trying to get Shon Coleman, up until the very last minute, to change his commitment from AU to Bama (of course, his pleading with Coleman didn't work). If he is so concerned about kids keeping their word, why is he trying to sway solid verbal commits from other schools to Bama? Sounds kind of hypocritical, dontcha think?

The truth is, recruiting can get nasty, and that's fine as long as rules are adhered to. I have no problem with coaches trying to sway commits from other schools to their program. (Tubs swayed Carnell Williams from UT at the last second. All evidence I have seen suggests he did it perfectly legally). But to go to the press and cry like a baby about commits not holding their word is just laughable. Get over it Nicky, it happens EVERY year to EVERY school. I watch it happen to AU every season. We move on. Big deal. I never recall Dye, lil' Bowden, Tubs or the Chiz *****in' about it to the press.

The sad thing is, Bama is coming off its 8th NC, just had a top 5 class, and yet Nicky wants to cry a river about a couple of commits not holding their word. Jeezus, spare me.

I guess he is pissed that Florida had perhaps the best recruiting class in football history.
Using Rivals, Bama's last 3 classes were rated:

#1
#1
#5

What are auburn's for the last 3 years? Also, funny to hear auburn fans talking about Bama paying players. Remember "Keep it down home, cuz." Isn't Pat Dye once again firmly entrnched in the auburn "program"?
Congrats to Auburn for their good recruiting class but, as we know, according to some Auburn fans, recruiting doesn't mean much. Roll Eyes

Now if they can do it a couple of more years and Chezik can coach 'em up, they can come off the porch and play with the big dogs, until then the Bama wannabes just have to stay in the shadow cast by that National Championship team from Tuscaloosa.

So very true. Up until this year, recruiting was vastly overrated and Rivals, for some unkown reason, hated auburn and always "downgraded" their recruits. Roll Eyes

And the jealousy continues as always.

First thing about corruption I think you need to get a few facts straight. Auburn is right at the top of programs to be on probation. Between the years 1957 - 1995 AU was on probation for 13 years. 33% of the time in nearly 40 years.

From 1951 to 1998 -- NEARLY 50 YEARS -- Auburn didn't have a single head football coach who didn't operate under probation at some point. And yes this includes the beloved Coach Dye and keep it down home cuz.

During this time period Alabama had been put on probation only once. Pretty amazing isn't it?

Look at your own program and transgressions before accusing others.

Secondly, another fact you need to check out is that Shon Coleman was the one that contacted Coach Bo Davis about interest in Alabama along with Ole Miss and Miami. We DIDN'T contact him he called us.

One other thing you might want to check out is Corey Lemonoir's(signed LOI 2/03/09 to AU) facebook page. Looks pretty proud of that brand new Corvette. Coincidence?
