you can always tell when the sports season starts getting slow when espn trots out these "contests." they are doing a state by state mt rushmore of athletes that represent that state (they don't necessarily have to be from that state, even though 3 out 4 of alabama's were born here). they are then doing a vote, and revealing the top 5 and eventually the number 1. alabama made the top 5 and was on sportscenter last night.

our state's mt rushmore is hank aaron, bear bryant, bo jackson and willie mayes. pretty solid imo. i think they could also have easily included joe louis though

so far the other two that were announced were new york (babe ruth, jackie robinson, joe namath and jim brown) and california (tiger woods, john wooden, magic johnson and jackie robinson again)

yeah, rick reilly, the guy narrating the video, mentions him (along with charles barkley and bart starr) as someone who could have easily made it. you could probably make a pretty good arguement for bobby allison too.
